Williamston Police Officers recently investigated the following incidents:

Jan. 10 – A vehicle tag valued at $20 taken from a 1998 Jeep Cherokee at Autech, 400 Palmetto Rd. D. Hart investigated.
Jan. 10 – Hayden Lane Roberson, 27 was arrested after officer responded to 19 Edgewood Drive in reference to an assault. Cherie Roberson, 56, 19 Edgewood Dr., reported her son had bear hugged her from behind and spit down her neck. Hayden denied the accusation but officers observed what appeared to be spit on her collar. Hayden was placed under arrest for assault and transported to ACDC. D. H. Hart investigated.
Jan. 8 – Russell Alan Branyon, 36, 1004 Breazeale Rd., Belton reported theft from a motor vehicle at the vacant lot at Major Road and North Hamilton St. Entry was gained through the passenger side window of the vehicle which was broken. A wallet and contents were reported missing. Sgt. L. E. Mulz investigated.
Jan. 7 – Jacqueline D. Segars, 67, 203 S. Hamilton St., reported medication stolen from the residence. Sgt. l. E. Mulz investigated.
Jan. 6 – Annie Dottison, 49, 6 E. Church St., Williamston reported an Andriod cell phone and case, personal papers, drivers license, $56 cash and SNAP card stolen from the residence. The items were valued at $500. Lt. L.B. Culbertson investigated.
Jan. 6 – Vicki Mariee Greer, 65, 221 Prince St,. Williamston reported a burgundy 1993 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck stolen from the residence. The vehicle was recovered at Fast Fuel, 207 W. Main Street in Williamston. Reports state a warrant was being sought for Amanda Dianne Ramar for use of vehicle without permission for temporary use. The vehicle was valued at $1,200. Officer J. D. West investigated.
Jan. 5 – Misty Fields, 39, 11 Stewart St., Pelzer reported a First Citizens debit card was accidentally dropped while at Family Dollar, Anderson Dr., Williamston and that the card had been used at several locations in Williamston in the amount of $1,000. Lt. L. B. Culbertson is investigating.
Jan. 3 – April Destiny Slayton, 27, 307 S. Hamilton St., reported a malicious damage incident in which $500 in damage was done to her 2020 Toyota Camry. According to reports, Slayton heard voices outside of the residence and then heard a loud thud. Officer J. D. West investigated.
Jan. 3 – A credit card was found in Mineral Spring Park and turned in to Williamston Police Department. Officers were to attempt to contact the victim. Officer T. L. Eichelberger reported.
Jan. 3 – Sonya Lafaye Bigby, 16 Brown St., reported a .38 caliber Taurus ARMAS handgun valued at $269 stolen from her carport. The firearm was placed on NCIC. Officer T. L. Eichelberger investigated.
Jan. 1 – While on patrol on Anderson Drive, Officer W. C. Trotter observed a dark blue 2018 Honda with no rear brake lights. The vehicle turned into the West Main shopping center parking lot and then onto Belton Drive. A traffic stop was attempted but was called off due to it being a minor traffic violation. Belton PD and ACSO were notified. Belton PD spotted the vehicle, which was reported stolen out of Hart County and a stop was made on Hwy. 20 in Belton. Trotter assisted Belton PD in taking the subject, Jody Motes, 38, of Anderson, into custody.
Jan. 1 – Travis Dean Seigler, 34, 41 Ridge Ct., Williamston was issued a summons for reckless driving after a silver Dodge pickup truck was observed driving reckless on a wet roadway at Prince St./West Main. In addition to a summons for reckless driving, a warning was issued for improper lane use. The vehicle was released to his mother. Officer J. M. Cobb investigated.
Dec. 28 – SavWay, 309 E. Main St., Williamston reported a gas drive off in the amount of $20. The suspect was identified as a white male in a green Toyota SUV. Officer D. Vickery investigated.
Dec. 27 – Vickie Dianne Reed, 64, 3(1-11) Church St. reported a debit card taken from her wallet. Purchases were made at Fast Fuel, 207 W. Main for $7.90, $82.11, $303.50 and $278.17. $200 was taken out of the ATM. Two additional charges of $2.99 each were also made at unknown address. First Citizens Bank also reported that a tall dark haired male with big eyes attempted to cash a check in the victim’s name. Reed located her wallet on the side walk near the Suntrust on Pelzer Avenue. The incident remains under investigation. D. R. Hart investigated.
Dec. 26 – Dinise M Olexy, 45, 209 Verennes Church Rd., Anderson reported a hit and run at 526 West Main St. in which her silver 2006 Ford Focus had been struck by a vehicle causing $1,500 in damage to the rear trunk area. R. Connor investigated.
Dec. 25 – Sgt. L. E. Mulz assisted with a shooting investigation at 11 Holiday Street in West Pelzer by blocking the roadway with her vehicle for traffic control and gathering information.
Dec. 23 – A black phone and case were found in Mineral Spring Park and turned in to the WPD.
