Williamston Freedom Celebration to include full day of fun – July 2

Williamston’s Freedom Celebration and Fireworks will be held this Saturday, July 2 with expanded activities including a Freedom Market, Golf Cart Parade, Bobbers on Big Creek Race, Freedom Games, Cruise-In, food trucks, live music and fireworks.

Festivities are set to begin with a Freedom Market starting at 10 am to 3 pm in Mineral Spring Park. Approximately 20 vendors are expected for the market. A Golf Cart Parade will be held from 12 noon to 1 pm. Golf Cart Parade lineup will be in the old ACE parking lot at 12 noon.
There will also be food trucks in the park from 12 noon until.

Envision Williamston and the Palmetto Business Association will sponsor the “Bobbers on Big Creek” race from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. along Big Creek in Mineral Spring Park. Envision Williamston will also sponsor a variety of free games in the park. The “Freedom Games” will be held from 4 pm to 7 pm. in Mineral Spring Park.

There will be a Cruise-In and Antique Firetruck rides beginning at 5 pm in the shopping center parking lot behind/beside McDonalds.
Yesterday’s Ride, now in their new location on North Hamilton St., will also be open for visitors this Saturday, according to owner Jim Simpson.

Jukebox 45 will perform on the Amphitheater stage in Mineral Spring Park beginning at 7:30 pm. The fireworks show will begin around 9:30 pm behind Town Hall.

The event is co-sponsored by The Town of Williamston, Envision Williamston, Palmetto Business Association and other sponsors. A new business in town, Cristina Ortiz State Farm agency, is a sponsor of the Envision Williamston Freedom Games.

Prizes for the “Freedom Games” include: horse shoes, camping chairs, marshmallow sticks, cooler, patio lights, hammock, pickleball racket sets and casserole carriers.
Cash prizes/Visa cash cards for top three winners of the Envision Williamston/PBA Bobbers on Big Creek Race will receive $300, $150, $50. Cash prizes were donated by Palmetto Business Association.
