Arrest made in Piedmont shooting
Update – Investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office have charged 18-year-old Jaquan Kayne Alston with two counts of Attempted Murder and one count of Possession of a Weapon during a violent crime following a shooting that occurred on Monday at 1326 Piedmont Highway in Piedmont.

During the investigation, deputies learned that Alston shot two people after an argument ensued and then fled the scene on foot. Deputies located Alston one street over from the incident location and took him into custody. He is currently in the Greenville County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.

Deputies with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office responded to an active shooter call just after 1:00 pm Monday at Carolina Heating Services located at 1326 Piedmont Hwy.

Once on scene deputies located two victims with at least one gunshot wound each. Both victims were transported to the hospital and their conditions are unknown at this time. The suspect originally took off on foot but was apprehended on Helen Drive a short time later by Greenville County deputies.
