PAWS celebrating universal birthday for all rescue dogs – DOGust 1stAnderson County P.A.W.S. is teaming up with North Shore Animal League America in
partnership with Baby Doge to PAW-TY! Join these partners in animal rescue as they
celebrate DOGust 1st®, the universal birthday for all rescue dogs.
During the celebration through Saturday, August 6, Anderson County P.A.W.S. is
waiving adoptions fees on all animals!
Anderson County P.A.W.S. is open to the public Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and
Saturday from 12:00pm – 5:00pm. No appointment is necessary. Social distancing and
masks are suggested, not required.
To commemorate this year’s DOGust 1st, celebrations are being hosted more fifty (50) of
Animal League America’s shelter partners across the country throughout the week. The five
shelters that record the most adoptions during this window will win monetary prizes thanks to this partnership with Baby Doge. For more details visit www.animalleague.org/DOGust1st.
Since the actual dates of birth for most rescued dogs are unknown, North Shore Animal
League America created DOGust 1st to celebrate rescue dogs (those adopted and those still in
shelters awaiting loving homes.)
Since 2008, these “mutt-i-grees” have had this day designated to honor the incredible impact they make on peoples lives.
And remember, it may be DOGust, but many felines are looking for loving homes, too
(especially now during the height of kitten season.)
