Williamston Police Officers investigated the following incidents:
Sept. 13 – Robert Gary Bannister, 70, 214 Edgewood Dr., Williamston reported a break-in in which a black and white metal safe and contents were missing. The stolen items were valued at $2,000. Forced entry was gained by breaking a glass slide door and two nailed hallway doors were kicked in. J. M. Cobb investigated.
Sept. 13 – Nancy Thorton, 66, 110 Gossett Dr. #E4 reported a credit card being used without her consent. Several charges were made totaling $78.76. Sgt. L. E. Mulz investigated.
Sept. 13 – The Williamston Police Department investigated a report of a missing person after a mother reported her 15 year old male son was not outside in front of Palmetto High School for pickup after school and there was no answer to multiple calls to his cell phone. The missing juvenile was located a short time later with a local driving academy which he had signed up for. T. C. Grate investigated.
Sept. 13 – Karen A Vaughn, 45, 376 Williamson Hill Rd., Donalds reported a possible vehicle breakin during a sporting event at Palmetto High School, 804 N. Hamilton St. According to reports a purse containing $3000 and medications was taken from her locked 2012 Chevy Tahoe while parked in a parking lot. There was no sign of forced entry. R. C. Burgess investigated.
Sept. 14 – Jennifer McLees, 31, 129 Crown Ct., Williamston reported an incident of identity theft in which a Capital One bank account was opened in her name. The bank was contacted and the fraudulent account was closed before any transactions took place. Lt. L. B. Culbertson investigated.
Sept. 15 – Lt. L. B. Culbertson Jr. met with Jessica Anquinnette Blandin, 43, 100 Ashe Drive DR #139, Greenville, in reference to a property matter involving her father and a person identified as Williams. According to reports, the property was purchased jointly by Blandin and Williams. Assistant Solicitor Danny Fulmer was contacted and recommended J. Blandin contact a Civil Attorney about the matter.
Sept. 16 – Stephanie Ann Hawthorne, 34, 16 Glenwood Rd., Williamston reported a suspected violation of order of protection after obscene wording was observed on the rear window shield of her vehicle. A victim form was issued. J. M. Cobb investigated.
Sept. 18 – Officer D. Vickery and C. Burgess were dispatched to Fast Fuel, 209 West Main St. where Shantel Evangelyn Benjamin, 33, 118 Williamston Ct. reported an Apple Watch SE valued at $400 missing from her car. According to reports, the car was left running, with a window open and a door unlocked, while she entered the store. Several persons “hanging out” in front of the store were questioned and denied taking anything out of the car.
Sept. 23 – Officers investigated an assault in which Hadden Riley Thomas, 19, 302 Country Glen, Pelzer reported he had gone to his friends house at 11 Sunset Ct. While discussing plans, the friend, identified as Jack Wyatt Prater, struck Thomas in the face, body and head. According to reports, Prater chased Thomas on foot then got into a white mini van and chased him. When Thomas returned to get his vehicle, Prater began trying to fight him again. Officers were to seek a warrant on Prater for assault and battery. J. D. McCoy investigated.
Sept. 22 – Holly Renee Husser, 25, 16 Rockwood Drive reported an incident of phone harassment in which the father of her child, Jaquien Donyell Washington called her and threatened to slash the tires on her vehicle. Washington was contacted by officers and advised not to contact Husser going forward which could lead to criminal charges for unlawful communication. J. S. Grinnell investigated.
Sept. 22 – Rickey Lee Alexander, 36, 530 Rogers Rd., Pelzer was arrested for assault and battery and disorderly conduct after officer T. C. Grate responded to Palmetto High School Football Stadium, 804 N. Hamilton St. Grate observed JV players from Pendleton and Palmetto involved in a brawl situation on the field.
According to reports, several coaches observed Alexander on the field during the incident and he was seen pushing and shoving Pendleton students during the fight. Coaches also stated they shoved Alexander away from the players and repeatedly asked him to leave the field.
A 15 year old Pendleton player/student told officers that as he was trying to help his teammates during the skirmish, he was pushed and shoved and a parent (identified as Alexander) jumped the fence, jerked his helmet off and punched him in the jaw with a closed fist.
The incident was presented to Judge Lollis and an arrest warrant was issued for assault and battery regarding the assault of the Pendleton player.
Alexander was arrested and transported to ACDC.
Sept. 22 – Drug paraphernalia was found in Mineral Spring Park. According to reports, Officer J. Cobb recovered a light blue disposable razor, two clear plastic boxes with compact inside and two unloaded syringes. The items were placed into evidence.
Sept. 22 – Vickie Dianne Reed, 65, 3 (1-11) Church St., reported a forgery incident in which multiple transactions were made on her First Citizens bank account. According to reports, transfers are made to an unknown cash app. The four transactions total $550. J. Cobb investigated.
Sept. 20 – Family Dollar, 1505 Anderson Dr., reported a shoplifting incident in which an Interior By Design 6 in 1 soft grip paint tool valued at $5 was taken. The suspect was seen going toward Beaverdam Road in an older model white Toyota Corolla. The vehicle was observed at the BP gas station on Anderson Drive and was stopped. The driver, identified as Benjamin Gray Eller matched the description of the shoplifting incident and was placed on trespass notice. Family Dollar video confirmed it was the same person and employees stated they wanted to press charges. The case was to be presented to bond court where Judge White did issue a warrant for shoplifting. D. Hart investigated.
