Grace Baptist Church had its first meeting in the spring of 1982. Pastor John Griffith took over the pastoral responsibilities. With 25 people joining in charter membership March 20, 1983 the church officially forged ahead.

Established December 21, 1952. Rev. Hayne Rivers was the first pastor to help organize the mission. Under Rev. Rivers’ leadership, which began on July 1, 1952, the mission attendance grew from seventy five to one hundred.

Ware Place Church of God was founded on the 2nd day of May, 1974 by the Reverend John L. Smith and his family. The church began in a store front building on Hwy 25 in the Ware Place Community.

Bessie Road Church was established on August 16, 1975. Dirt floors and no lights, the beginning enrollment was 59. Rev. James Wells was pastor but due to health problems he resigned June 25, 1989. Rev. Harold Hughes became the new pastor on July 8, 1990.  New church building July 11, 1993. He resigned on April 22, 2001 due to health problems. Rev. Robert Griswold became pastor on April 22, 2001.

Williamston Presbyterian Church

History: The Williamston Presbyterian Church traces its history back to 1852 and the founding of the town of Williamston. The original structure was built in 1857-8 and faced north on what is now Mineral Park Lane. In 1914, the church was relocated to face east on Mill Street. The Sanctuary was built in the colonial style. The balcony was originally built for the slaves of church members, and had a separate entrance.

History: On October 29, 1883, the Pelzer Presbyterian Church was established as a commission of the South Carolina Presbytery with Rev. Calvin L. Stewart serving as the first minister. Rev. Stewart was also the pastor for Williamston Presbyterian Church, as well as the Presbyterian Churches in New Harmony, Piedmont, Lickville, Belton, and Honea Path.
