Poor management again. We have a mayor taking things into his own hands with out council or should I say majority of council. There was a coucil member that took things into his hands and moved the time capsule a bout two years ago. Rather than handle a few bad speaking people from the park or basket ball courts he takes the goal post down and punishes the good. It might be a good thing to put some of our policemen on bicycles and ride the park on a regular bases. It would be good exercise for our police force, save money on gas, wear on cars, and protect those that use park with respect of those around them. $36,000 on a gazebo would have done a lot of lanscaing around the play ground where our little children play. It may have even paved the other paths rather than using material that will wash and have to be replace. What engineering firm did they pay to give a wrong estimate on the waste water treatment lines. Was that money wasted or will the town get it back for poor service? A citizen would think with an expensive paid administrator, mayor, council, park and recreation director that they could do better. Is there any hope for Williamston.

I was born in Anderson but lived in Williamston until I was 14 when my parents moved to Pensacola, Fl...I have lots of family that live there which now is only cousins. My grandfather was Mack Owen and had several sons who lived there as well. I go back to visit cousins about every two or three years.. My mother was a faithful reader of the Journal which she continued to get until she passed away 14 years ago.. She was Lucy Courtney...

The Gazebo is to help put on a show that Williamston is the all around best town in the area for the Spring Water festival. I mean think about it why not build a Gazebo have a ribbon cutting or some kinda event to attract more people to the park on one particular Saturday out of a year than to fix the roads that people travel on daily. Its all about image. Maybe if we all go stand in the middle of it and yell curse words they will remove it like they did the basketball goals or better yet if we can let our youth stand in these pot holes in the road and look like they are having fun then out of spite they might fill them in!

Okay, What is wrong with this picture, we can afford a $35,000.00 Gazebo in a park, but can't afford to fix the pot holes in Williamston, SC can "A" not help "B" to improve the streets???
