Middleton proud of accomplishments while on council

Middleton said he ran for the office to make a difference in the town of Williamston and he believes he has helped do that but the time it takes away from his family is the main reason he is not running for reelection . . .

Candidates file, petitions fail to qualify

Williamston citizens will go the polls in November with no formal candidates for the two vacant seats on the town council, according to S.C. Election Commission official Gary Baum. Two candidates, Grey Parks and Tony Hagood, both filed petitions prior to the closing of the registration books. Both had just a few more names than the one hundred twelve needed to qualify. Once the petitions were reviewed and certified by the local election commission, neither candidate retained an adequate number of qualified voters to be placed on the ballot . . .
