Blue Ridge Fest in Pickens April 28

Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative will celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Blue Ridge Fest at the annual event on Friday, April 28, 2017, held at the cooperative’s headquarters in downtown Pickens.
The largest classic car cruise-in and Beach Night show and dance event in the Upstate, Blue Ridge Fest attracts nearly 5,000 attendees and more than 600 classic cars from across the Southeast annually to benefit local charities in the cooperative’s four-county service area.

Blue Ridge Fest set for May 10

The days are winding down in anticipation of Blue Ridge Fest 2013. This big Upstate event is in its 16th year, and 13 area charitable organizations are looking to benefit from its proceeds. All activities will take place at the Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative office and grounds, 734 West Main Street in Pickens on Friday, May 10th.

Four well-known musical groups will perform at the Friday, May 10 Beach Night show and dance. The headline act will be The Drifters with Charlie Thomas, known for such hits as There Goes My Baby, Save the Last Dance for Me, and Up on the Roof.

Preceding them onstage will be The Clovers. This ensemble has produced an impressive string of 15 number-one songs, including Love Potion Number 9, One-Mint Julep, and Devil or Angel.

Rydell cancels appearance, Ben E. King to perform at Blue Ridge Fest

Organizers of Blue Ridge Fest announced this week that featured entertainer Bobby Rydell has canceled his appearance due to health problems. Well-known performer, Ben E. King, has been booked for the evening. King is known for a number of hits including “Stand By Me,” “There Goes My Baby,” and his Latin-tinged ballad, “Spanish Harlem.” An award winning R&B musician, he is a great entertainer and is expected to put on a memorable show.

Bobby Rydell will entertain at Blue Ridge Fest

The 15th annual Blue Ridge Fest will take place May 11 from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative’s covered outdoor facility at 734 W. Main St. in Pickens. The festival boasts the largest classic car cruise-in event in the Upstate, along with a Beach Night show and dance.

Blue Ridge Fest features Bobby Rydell, cars, more

On May 11, the past will come to life as rock-and-roll stars Bobby Rydell and Jimmy Clanton take the stage at the 15th-annual Blue Ridge Fest. Jim Quick & Coastline will round out the entertainment that night. A fest favorite, this high-energy group always brings the crowd to its feet with their own brand of music.
