Structure fire – Osteen Hill Road

A residential structure was destroyed by fire late Friday night on Osteen Hill Road. When firefighters from Wren, West Pelzer, and Piedmont arrived the home was fully engulfed in flames. No one was injured. Pelzer EMS stood by until firefighters had the fire under control. (Photo by David Rogers)

Propane leak – Beaverdam Baptist Church

A West Pelzer firefighter checks a propane leak Thursday night at Beaverdam Baptist Church near Williamston. A nearby resident reported the smell of propane. When firefighters arrived propane was coming out in liquid and gas form. The gas supplier was notified to respond. Gas had to be removed from inside the church by firefighters. Car overturns – Hardwood Road

One person was injured after a car overturned apparently attempting to avoid a deer in the roadway. The accident happened on Hardwood Road and blocked one lane of traffic until the wreckage was cleared. Pelzer EMS transported one person to an area hospital. West Pelzer firefighters assisted EMS. Old River Road accident

Three injured – Hwy. 29

Three people were injured a a three vehicle accident on Wednesday evening at the intersection of Highway 29 and Welcome Road. Whitefield firefighters had to cut the door from one of the vehicles to remove the driver. Two drivers and a passenger in one of the vehicles were injured and transported by Medshore Ambulance Service. West Pelzer firefighters also assisted.

One person escaped serious injury after a rollover accident on Thursday night. The accident happened on Ballard Road between US 29 and SC 8. West Pelzer firefighters along with Medshore Ambulance Service responded to the call. State troopers investigated the wreck. (Photo by David Rogers)

Two vehicle accident – Hwy. 8

House fire – Ellison Lake Road

Firefighters prepare to extinguish a house fire Saturday night on Ellison Lake Road at Sweet Gum Circle. When firefighters arrived minutes after receiving the call flames were coming through the roof and other parts of the home. The elderly couple living there were able to get out on their own and were not injured. Whitefield, West Pelzer, and Piercetown firefighters responded to the call. Apartment fire – West Pelzer

Whitefield and West Pelzer firefighters work at the scene of an apartment fire Saturday afternoon. The fire was quickly extinguished by first arriving firefighters with a garden hose. Accident at Lee Steam Plant

A Medshore ambulance leaves Lee Steam Plant Wednesday after a contract worker was rescued. The worker, who had safety gear on, fell and was suspended in the air. West Pelzer firefighters, the Anderson Technical Rescue Team, Medshore Ambulance Service, Pelzer EMS, and South Greenville firefighters responded. Rescue workers search Saluda River

Rescue workers gathered Tuesday night searching for a man presumed drowned in the Saluda River in Pelzer. Clothing was found near the river bank at the upper boat ramp leading neighbors to think someone was missing in the river. West Pelzer firefighters along with Anderson and Greenville technical rescue teams responded as well as Pelzer EMS. The subject was located about an hour later on dry land. (Photo by David Rogers)
