Motorcycle accident

Vehicles total loss – Hwy 86

I-85 accident

A pickup truck rear ended a tractor trailer Monday night on I-85 near the Highway 86 exit. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured. The driver of the pickup walked away from the scene. Pelzer EMS and Wren fire department responded to the accident. (Photo by David Rogers)

Moore Road accident

Black ice may have been responsible for this accident on Moore Road on Sunday night. Wren firefighters closed off the road and asked for sand trucks. No one was injured in the wreck. The road was temporary closed between SC 81 and Roper Road. (Photo by David Rogers)

Single vehicle accident

Two injured – Hwy 81

Car strikes pole – Hurricane Creek Rd.

A car struck a utility pole Friday night on Hurricane Creek Road and overturned. Wren firefighters and Pelzer EMS workers kept a safe distance from the scene awaiting power company workers. When the vehicle struck the pole, a water line was also broken, sending water across a parking lot. The driver was able to get out of the vehicle on his own. (Photo by David Rogers)

Pedestrian fatality – Hwy. 17

A seventy six year old man was struck and killed by a sixteen year old Tuesday morning. The accident happened on Highway 17 near Shiloh Road. Pelzer EMS and Wren firefighters responded to the call. Troopers are investigating the incident.

Former School Board member struck and killed by car Tuesday

A former Anderson District One School Board member, James Givens Carpenter was struck by a vehicle and killed early Tuesday morning, as he crossed Hwy. 17 in the Wren area. According to Deputy Coroner Don McKown, Carpenter died at the scene of multiple traumatic injuries.

Cyclist injured

Single vehicle accident – Moores Mill Rd.

SCHP reported the incident at 2:18pm at 132 Moores Mill Road in Anderson county.  A man driving his truck lost control and went down an embankment. He was taken to Greenville Memorial with serious injuries, according to officials at the scene. Wren Fire Dept and Pelzer EMS responded to the scene.

Extinguish ATV fire – Compton Drive

Cheddar firefighters work to extinguish a four wheeler fire on Tuesday evening on Compton Drive. When firefighters arrived the ATV was completely engulfed in flames. There were no injuries in the blaze. (Photo by David Rogers)

Powdersville house heavily damaged by fire

Firefighters from four Anderson county fire departments work to extinguish a house fire in Powdersville onThursday night. The house in the Birch River Subdivision was heavily damaged by fire. Car under tree – Elrod Road
