The Pelzer Heritage Commission is asking for help with clean up of two of the area’s oldest cemeteries. The project, headed by PHC member Jim Harrison, will start this Saturday, November 5, at 9 a.m. at the cemetery behind the Pelzer Church of God on Hwy 20. Once this site is finished, the clean up will continue in the oldest historic cemetery in Pelzer which is located in the Monkey Park. Volunteers are asked to bring weedeaters, lawn mowers, rakes, lawn trash bags and other needed equipment. Experienced volunteers with chain saws are also needed. Clean ups are also scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 12 and Saturday, Nov 19th. Members of the PHC also plan to be at Bi-Lo this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with Pelzer throws, Christmas ornaments, and Pelzer T shirts for sale. The two ornaments, one burgundy, has both the old and present school images on it and the other, white, with both the lower and upper mill images would make great Christmas presents.
