Correction – In reporting on the Williamston Town Council meeting Monday, The Journal mistakenly interpeted a unanimous vote by Williamston Town Council on the Brookdale Park restroom project as a 3-2 vote. The vote was actually 5-0, unanimous with all Councilmen and Mayor voting in favor of accepting the construction bid of $44,800 for the project.
During the vote on a motion made by Councilman Tony Hagood and seconded by Councilman David Harvell to accept the one bid, Councilmen Mack Durham and Mike Looper were slow in raising their hands which was mistaken by The Journal as a vote opposed to the motion.
Both Councilman Durham and Councilman Looper said Wednesday that they are in support of the project.
