Williamston Police officers investigated thefts, drug violations, drunk pedestrians and recovered a stolen vehicle. Among incidents investigated were:
Feb. 5 – Two people were arrested after officers were dispatched to Rite Aid, East Main St. and observed a 1996 Kia.
William Robert Prather, Jr., 32, 3 River St., Pelzer was arrested for possession of a controlled substance after officers found several pills in a pill bottle with a prescription for another person.
The driver, Kirby Nabors, was charged with public disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension and simple possession of marijuana. According to reports, a green leafy substance weighing 1.4 grams was found in Nabors purse. Sgt. E. T. Hutchins, D. M. Stipe investigated.
Feb. 3 – Dominique Daquan White, 18, 820 Joe Black Road, Williamston was arrested for open container and failure to register a vehicle after a 1992 Honda was observed on Main St,. with no tag light and a temporary dealer tag that had expired. A bottle of vodka was found in the vehicle. A passenger in the vehicle, Betty Jo Lambert, who was also the owner, was also arrested along with a male juvenile. T. J. Richardson investigated.
Feb. 3 – Michael Antonia Gladney, 26, 118 Griffin Ave., Belton was arrested for an outstanding bench warrant for driving under suspension after WPD was notified Anderson City Jail had him in custody. D. M. Stipe investigated.
Feb. 3 – Michael Lee Wilson, 25, 12 Magnolia Dr,. #12, Travelers Rest was arrested for outstanding bench warrant for possession of marijuana after WPD was notified Greenville County Detention Center had him in custody. Sgt. B. C. Kelley investigated.
Feb. 3 – Christopher David Standard, 20, 108 Darby Ln, Anderson was arrested for outstanding bench warrant after Anderson City Police notified WPD that he was in custody. Sgt. E. T. Hutchins investigated.
Jan. 31 – Officers recovered a stolen vehicle which was located on the side of the road on Mill St. Sgt. E. T. Hutchins investigated.
Jan. 30 – Nicole Marie Vaglica, 30, 81 Main St., Pelzer was arrested for driving under suspension after a gold Honda was observed speeding on Minor St going 47 mph in a 35 mph zone. J. Rogers investigated.
Feb. 2 – Williamston police officer M. E. Simmons assisted the West Pelzer Police Dept. in serving multiple warrants on Stephen Xavier Williams, 19, 292 Charles Burton Rd., Honea Path. Outstanding warrants included improper headlights, driving under suspension (3rd) possession of marijuana, loitering for drug purposes, failure to stop on command, prowling, minor in possession of alcohol and petit larceny. Williams was housed in the WPD until he could be transported to the Anderson County Detention Center.
Feb. 9 – Realty Professionals, Remax reported copper pipe valued at $3,000 stolen from a residence at 116 Royal Dr., Williamston. D. M Stipe investigated.
Feb. 12 – Karen Ann Hammond, 64, 107 Williamston Ct. was arrested for disorderly conduct after officers responded to a complaint at the apartments. Sgt. D. W. Bryant, L. E. Mulz investigated.
Feb. 11 – Anthony Gene Agnew, 47, 11 Brown St., Williamston was arrested for public disorderly conduct after being observed walking and loitering in business parking lots located off Pelzer Ave. T. J. Richardson investigated.
Feb. 11 – Francesca Monique Gantt, 30, 1101 Williamston Rd, #15B was arrested for driving under suspension (2nd) after a blue Ford Explorer was observed turning onto Bigby St,. without using a turn signal. T. J. Richardson investigated.
Feb. 10 – Bobby Lee Slade, 37, 104 Bigby St., Williamston was arrested for public disorderly conduct and interfering with an officer after being observed walking on Greenville Dr. to East Carolina St. L. E. Mulz, J. McWhite investigated.
Feb. 10 – James Harry Dean, 60, 110 Market St,. Williamston was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after being observed walking in a grassy area between Jehue St. and East Carolina St. A crack pipe was found in his pocket. L. E. Mulz, J. McWhite investigated.
Feb. 10 – Damion T. Sanders, 34, 510 Hamilton St., Williamston was arrested for simple possession of marijuana after being observed walking in the area of Bigby St., and Crescent Dr. Reports state he was observed throwing down a white baggie containing a green leafy substance field tested to be marijuana. The marijuana weighed 1.2 grams. L. E. Mulz, J McWhite investigated.
Feb. 10 – Linda Martin Hays, 69, 608 Hamilton St., Williamston reported items valued at $655 were removed from a residence at 8 McDonald Ave. Sgt. K. J. Winn investigated.
Feb. 9 – Ashley Kimberi and Jerry Barlow were issued tickets for no business license after two persons they were supervising were observed selling magazine subscriptions on W. First St. Sgt. E. T. Hutchins, D. M. Stipe investigated.
Feb. 7 – Officers investigated an incident in which a 16 year old male juvenile backed his vehicle into a parked truck at Palmetto High School causing $4000 in damage and then left the scene. Reports state the juvenile will be issued a citation for leaving the scene of an accident. SGT/SRO L. D. Ritter investigated.
