With less than 9 months until the 2012 general election, South Carolina Democrats are ready to turn the red state blue. And they’re inviting Anderson Democrats to help them start that process by attending local precinct meetings.

“Anderson Democrats are concerned with the downward spiral of our state under the irresponsible leadership of Republicans during the last eight years. We believe the only way to restore integrity and accountability in state government and pride in South Carolina is to elect Democrats in State House and Senate races in 2012,” said Anderson Democratic Party Chair, Stuart Sprague. “We have a lot of work to do on the local and state levels before November. Our first step in this process is our precinct reorganization meetings.”

The Anderson County Party meetings will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 3 at the Westside Community Center, 1100 West Franklin Street, Anderson SC 29624.

During the meeting, local Democrats will elect party officers and discuss the 2012 election. Every precinct elects a president, first vice president, second vice president, third vice president, secretary, treasurer and a representative to the county party’s executive committee. Delegates will also be elected to the county convention on March 24. All persons who wish to participate at the State and National Conventions as delegates must attend this meeting.
