Powdersville Middle Student Artwork Honored

The Anderson County Arts Council has recognized several students from Powdersville Middle School for their entries in Youth Art Month and Keep America Beautiful t-shirt contest. Seventh grade student, Rachel Johnson, entered a charcoal drawing for the Youth Art Month exhibit that was accepted into the permanent collection of the Arts Center.

Rachel was honored on Sunday, February 26 at a reception and awards ceremony in the Anderson Arts Warehouse.

Two Powdersville Middle School sixth grade students, Lauren Pittman and Abby Goforth, also were recognized for their entries in Anderson County Keep American Beautiful t-shirt design contest. Lauren’s design won Grand Prize, and will be printed on promotional t-shirts. Abby Goforth’s design won first place in the sixth grade division. This year’s theme was, “The World is Your Backyard – Keep it Clean!” The show will be available for viewing through March 23, 2012 at the Anderson County Arts Center.
