The Cancer Association of Anderson will celebrate its ninth birthday on Monday, March 12th with a morning drop-in and a flotilla of birthday cakes. The drop-in will be held from 10:15 a.m. to noon at the association office, 215 E. Calhoun Street. A variety of cakes will be provided by the board of directors.

CAA was chartered on March 10, 2003 to provide financial assistance, emotional support and information and referral to cancer patients living in Anderson County. Currently, about 175 different patients come to its doors each month for help.

The association’s birthday gift wish list includes cash donations, postage stamps, spring bedding plants and bottled water and soft drinks, according to Executive Director Kristin Palmer Williams.

“We will be unveiling the names of our newest donor society members Monday morning, and we literally could not operate without their generosity,” she said. “We always appreciate monetary gifts!”
