Two arrested for guns, drugs

Anderson County Sheriff’s Office Gang Task Force Investigators and CATCH (Criminal Apprehension Through Community Help) officers have arrested two individuals for attempting to sell stolen guns in Anderson County and for drug charges.

Anderson County Sheriff’s Gang Task Force Investigators were investigating the sale of stolen guns during an undercover operation Friday afternoon in Powdersville. According to the Sheriff’s Department, after the purchase of a stolen handgun, CATCH team officers moved in to stop the vehicle and apprehend the suspects. A short vehicle pursuit, followed by a brief foot pursuit ensued after an attempt to arrest the two men. Both were quickly captured and arrested, according to authorities.

After searching the suspect’s vehicle, investigators located five more stolen guns, other various stolen property and a mobile meth lab.

Ian Martin Vonhollen, 34, of 111 Thornblade Cir. Greenville and Waylon David Swanger, 35, of 240 Ledbetter Rd. Travelers Rest were arrested and charged with sale of a stolen firearm, possession of stolen property over $2,000, and manufacturing methamphetamines.
