Former Williamston Councilman Otis Scott announced this week that he intends to run for the Ward 4 seat he held on Williamston Town Council from 2004-2008. Scott said a lot of Williamston citizens had asked him to run.

“I know I will do a good job,” Scott said. “I never failed to get an answer to their questions and alway responded as soon as they called.”

Scott said if elected, the town will not have to provide him insurance or a cell phone.

Scott served as Mayor Pro-Tem one year during his term on council.

Scott said he was instrumental in getting Academy St. and Spring St. in Williamston paved and sponsored the hospitality tax that has helped fund many projects in the town.

“I have been a resident of Williamston all my life and would greatly appreciate the opportunity to serve as your councilman again,” Scott said.
