MARY GARRETT BYRD
Mary Garrett Byrd, 89, of Charlotte died Thursday, April 5, 2012.
Celebration of life services were held 11:00 am Monday April 9, 2012  at Heritage Funeral Home – Indian Trail Chapel with Reverend Andrew Byrd and Reverend Randy Briscoe officiating. Interment followed at Sharon Memorial Park.
Mary was born March 27, 1923 in Anderson County, SC to the late Oscar and Sallie Harper Garrett. She was a loving mother and will be remembered as “Granny” for her electric personality and humor. She was a devoted member of Garr Memorial Church where she was church organist for many years.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Reverend Clarence Thomas “C.T.” Byrd and son Reverend Steve Byrd. Survivors include her daughters; Darlene Faith Byrd, Julie Byrd Neu and husband Jonathan, a daughter-in-law Cathey Byrd; Six grandsons and seven great-grandchildren.
The family received friends thirty minutes prior to the service.

MYRA CRAFT
Myra Lynn Jones Craft, 48, of Williamston, wife of Brian L. Craft, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of Jerry Jones of Pelzer, and the late Irene Roberts Jones. She was formerly employed with North Hills Medical Clinic and a member of the Williamston Church of Christ.
In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by son, Brian Craft, Jr. of Greenville; daughters, Karen Craft Alvarenga of Greenville, Jennifer Craft of the home, and Whitney Craft O’Shields of Piedmont; sisters, Donna McCauley, Tina Duncan and Kelly Sloan, all of Greenville, and Tammie Stewart of Pelzer; brothers, Mike Jones of Elgin, and Rodger Jones of Greenville; and two grandchildren.
Funeral service was held April 6 at the Williamston Church of Christ. Burial followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.

CURTIS WILLIAM RICE
Curtis William Rice, 71, husband of Marian Angela Bagwell Rice, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Anerson, he was the son of the late Reece Alexander and Florence Shaw Rice. He was a photographer/photo journalist in Anderson, Greenville and Greenwood. He was a charter member of the Broadway Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of Central Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Karen Rice McCrary of Piedmont; and two grandchildren.
Memorial services were held April 7 at Central Presbyterian Church in Anderson.
Memorials may be made to Central Presbyterian Maintenance Fund.

PETE PARSON
Crawford Udell “Pete” Parson, 81, of Piedmont, widower of Lidie Ruthie Bright Parson, died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Hosanna Health and Rehab.
Born in Oconee County, he was a son of the late Walter Guinn and Eula Patterson Parson.  He retired from Intex Chemical Company and was a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church.
Surviving are son Udell Parson of Piedmont; daughter Rhonda Long of Piedmont; and four grandsons.  He was the last member of his immediate family.
Funeral services were held Monday at the mortuary chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.  Burial followed in Oconee Memorial Park.
The family is at 707 Old Williamston Road, Piedmont.

CONNIE HAYNES
Connie Elaine Haynes, 53, of Belton, died Saturday, April 7, 2012, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of Pat Byron and Martha Rosalee Smith Haynes, of the home.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by son, Sam Hesper Eddleman of Belton; brothers, Mark Anthony Haynes of Williamston, and Daryl Gregory Haynes of Pelzer; and sisters, Ashley Nicole Haynes of Pelzer, and Catherine Venesa Sanders of Anderson.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the funeral home chapel of Gray Mortuary.  Burial followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.

JENNIE VEE CHAPMAN DOSHER
Jennie Vee Chapman Dosher, 79, died Friday, April 6, 2012 at Pendleton Manor Assisted Living in Greenville.
Born in Ware Place Community, Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Cynthia Chapman. She worked as a lab technician for Meritron in Williamston for ten years as a manager at Swirl Outlet at Ware Place for 14 years, and as a clerk for Revco (CVS) in Pelzer for 8 years until retirement.
She was a member of Washington Baptist Church in Pelzer. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Lewis C. Dosher, Sr.; two sons, Lewis C. Dosher, Jr. and his wife Karen of Ware Place, and Franky A. Dosher and his wife Elizabeth of Ware Place; and seven grandchildren, Sarah, Andrew, Rebekah, Joseph, Jordan and wife Lindsey, Joshua, and Jacob Dosher.
Services will be held at Washington Baptist Church with burial at the church cemetery. The families are at their respective homes. Condolences to www.graymortuary.com.

CARLOS LEE ANDREWS
Carlos Lee Andrews “Sonny”, 66, of Piedmont, died Thursday, April 5, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital.
Son of the late Carlos Robert Andrews and Dorothy Mae Andrews, he was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church and retired from BMW Manufacturing. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Surviving are his wife, Bernie Andrews of the home; sons, Jim Andrews of Williamston and Sam Jordan of Simpsonville; one granddaughter; one step-grandson; sister, Lynn Stewart.
A private burial was held.

CATHY LOMAX
Cathy Cox Lomax, 60, of Pelzer, widow of William Britten Lomax, died Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Pelzer, she was a daughter of the late John and Sadie Lollis Cox. She was retired from St. Francis Hospital, formerly employed with Greenville and Williamston Hospitals, and a member of Waycross Baptist Church.
Surviving are sons, Toby Lomax of Louisville, KY, Jody and Joy Lomax of Ware Shoals; brother, Joseph and Nancy Cox of Pelzer; sister, Carolyn Cox of Pelzer; and one granddaughter.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 14 from 1-2 pm at Waycross Baptist Church.
Funeral services will follow at 2 pm Saturday in the church with burial in the church cemetery.

JUDY MAE COGGINS REECE
Judy Mae Coggins Reece, 58, of Greenville, wife of William Maderson Reece, died Thursday, April 5, 2012.
Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late J.D. and Evelyn Athleen Phillips Coggins. She was a knitter with Sage Automotive Interiors. She was a member of Powdersville Community Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Sharon Ann Reece of Piedmont and Donna Stacey Todd of Travelers Rest; son, Larry Scott Pittman of Pickens; step-daughter, Brittany Reece Chapman; eleven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two brothers, Tony D. Coggins and Jamie D. Coggins; and two sisters, Rosa C. Dukes and Donna Gayle Prince.
The funeral service was held Wednesday at Powdersville Community Church. Burial followed the service in Graceland Cemetery West.

WILLIAM ‘BILLY’ MADERSON REECE
William “Billy” Maderson Reece, 47, of Greenville, husband of Judy Mae Coggins Reece, died Thursday, April 5, 2012.
Born in Greenville, he was a son of Paul Bartley Reece and the late Julia Avenell Burgess “Ruby” Reece. He was a fixer with Sage Automotive Interiors. He was a member of Powdersville Community Church.
Surviving are daughter, Brittany Reece Chapman of Pickens; two grandchildren; three step-children, Sharon Ann Reece, Larry Scott Pittman, and Donna Stacey Todd; nine step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; three brothers, David E., Davis W. and Donnie L. Reece; two sisters, Mary Lazette “Lucy” Jeanes and Loretta Faye Davenport.
The funeral service was held Wednesday at Powdersville Community Church. Burial followed the service in Graceland Cemetery West.

DIANE MORGAN
PELZER – Margaret Diane Woods Morgan, 59, of 403 Depot Road, died Monday, April 9, 2012, at her home.
Born in Pelzer, she was the daughter of Juanita Woods Vandiver, of Williamston, and the late S. D. Woods.  She retired from Greenville Memorial Hospital and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Williamston.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her step-father, Ed Vandiver, of Williamston; sons, Chad Morgan (Daphne), of Belton, and Ryan Morgan (Kelly), of Anderson; half-sister, Jane Rogers (Scott), of Easley; half-brother, Tony Vandiver, of Enoree; and grandchildren, Garrison, Gentry, Dylan and Kelsey Morgan.
She was predeceased by her brother, Tommy Woods.
Visitation was 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.  Funeral services followed at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel.  Burial was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.

BRENDA J. BRUCE
August 22, 1946-April 6, 2012
Brenda Janice Craft Bruce, age 65, of 4B Woodbridge Court, Anderson, SC passed away on Friday, April 06, 2012 at her daughter’s home.
Born in Oconee, SC, Ms. Bruce was the daughter of the late Lowell Dwight Craft and Helen Mae Evans Harper.  Walter William Evans, her grandfather, assisted in her upbringing.
Brenda was a homemaker and was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Belton, SC.  Brenda was known as “Grandma” to all who knew her.
A devoted mother, Brenda is survived by her son, Jason Bradley Bruce and his wife Rebecca of Travelers Rest, SC; daughters, Tracy Lynn Floyd and her husband Jeff of Anderson, SC, Tammy Ranae Horne-Bagwell and her husband Tim of Belton, SC, Misty Leah Little and her husband Tony, of Anderson SC; sisters, Jeanne Henslee, Dedra Gilliam, Beverly Harper, Bonnie Norris, and Kathy Johnson, all of Anderson; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Delia Bruce, son Anthony Scott Bruce, brother, Milton Addis, and sister, Rhonda Ponsell.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 8, 2012 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, officiated by the Reverend Dr. Ron Culbertson, and Reverend Jerry Mize. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family was at the home of her daughter, Tammy, 354 Cheddar Road, Belton, SC, and received friends on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at The McDougald Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00pm.
