CONNIE B. KERNELLS
Connie Burnette Kernells, 51, of Easley, died Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at her home.
She was born in Greenwood, a daughter of Charlotte McCoy Burnett of Piedmont and the late Leonard Burnett. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of Easley Church of God of Prophecy.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Jim P. Kernells of the home; son, Jamie Lamar Kernells of Woodruff; daughter, Tonya Kernells of Gray Court; brother, Richard Infinger of St. George; three sisters, Cindy Garrick of Branchville, Sandy Lytle of Piedmont, and Candy Tooley of Orangeburg; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Friday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home. Burial followed in the M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.

GRADY LEWIS CLARK
Grady Lewis Clark, 70, of Piedmont, died Thursday, April 12, 2012.
Born in Westminster, he was a son of the late Grady Lawrence and Louella Harris Clark.
Surviving are his wife, Pernell Clark; three sons, Eddie Clark, Gary Clark, Deano Clark; two brothers, Tommy and Franky Clark; one sister, Margaret Jones; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Saturday in the Palmetto Mortuary Chapel, Greenville.

CAROLYN J. WATSON
Carolyn Jones Watson, 80, died Friday, April 13, 2012 at the Village at Pelham.
Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Bailey C. Jones and Inez Fleming Jones. She was retired from textiles and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are five sons, Terry Watson of Duncan, Larry Watson of Piedmont, Marion Watson of Duncan, Donald Watson of Belton, and Bailey Watson of Greer; one daughter, Janice Robinson of Greenville, NC; one brother, Butler Jones of Greer; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at The Wood Mortuary chapel. Burial followed in Wood Memorial Park.

CLYDE McCLAIN
Clyde Junior McClain, 79, husband of Jerelean Agnes Campbell McClain, of Belton, died Thursday, April 12, 2012 at AnMed Health Center.
Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late Colie and Kara Brock McClain and was a member of Keowee Baptist Church.
He retired from Honea Path Shirtmakers and Pruitt Funeral Home.
Surviving are his wife of the home; three sons, Dennis McClain of Pelzer, Jackie McClain of Piedmont, and Rickey McClain of Donalds; three daughters, Connie Brock of Honea Path, Debbie Hilton of Belton and Donna Hoffstetter of Belton; two brothers, Bobby McClain of Honea Path, and Johnny McClain of Abbeville; three sisters, Lilly Gambrell of Honea Path, Nancy Hill of Honea Path, and Sybil Eads of Christianburg, VA; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held April 15 at Keowee Baptist Church. Burial followed in Mt. Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

DANNY CHURCH
Danny Kay Church, 50, of Anderson, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012.
Born in Anderson, he was the son of Ray E. Church and Erna W. Connolly.
He retired from Isola Corporation and was a member of The West Anderson Church of God.
In addition to his parents, surviving are three daughters, Brooklyn Church of Greenville, Courtney Church of Columbia, and Holland Church of Anderson; brothers, Ray Church and Shawn Church of Anderson; sisters, Teresa Church of Anderson and Nicole Duvall of Piedmont; stepmother, Sandy Church of Anderson and step-sister, Stacy Hastings of Piedmont.
Graveside service was held April 15 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

DAVID RICHARD MASSEY
David Richard Massey, 44, of Greenville, died Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenville, he was the son of Sarah Ann Massey Carter of Greenville and the late George Richard Carter.
Surviving in addition to his mother are sons, David J. Massey, Demetrius D. Massey, David D. Massey and Marquie Massey, all of Greenville; sister, Sandra Massey of Greenville and Courtney Carter of Piedmont.
Funeral service was held Sunday at Watkins, Garrett & Woods Mortuary. Burial followed in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

PATRICIA ELIZABETH ‘TRISH’ GOOD
Patricia Elizabeth Good “Trish”, 30, of Piedmont, died Friday, April 6, 2012.
Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of Mary Good and the late Marchant Don Good.
She previously worked at the Waffle House in Piedmont and attended Flat Rock Baptist Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Chantel Reynolds, Anjel Staggs, Nevaeh Heil, and Jimaysha Good Mays; husband, Jimmy Mays; and sister, Beth Paradise.
Funeral services were held April 13 at Flat Rock Baptist Church.

GENE WESTMORELAND
Gene Westmoreland, 69, of Seneca, husband of Peggy Westmoreland, died Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.
A native of Oconee County, he was the son of the late Harold Westmoreland, Sr. and Lucille Harbort Westmoreland.
He retired from Greenville Hospital System and was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Seneca. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Teague Westmoreland of Sacramento, CA, Patrick Mosso of Brennen, GA, Jesse Mosso of Westminster, and Bleu Mosso of Greenville; daughter, Traci Westmoreland of Sacramento, CA; brother, Harold Westmoreland, Jr. of Piedmont; sister, Sharon Addis of Greenville; and ten grandchildren.
A memorial service was held April 15 at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel.

HETTIE BROWN CHAPMAN
Hettie Brown Chapman, 92, of Piedmont, died Sunday, April 15, 2012 at The Haven in the Village at Chanticleer in Greenville.
She was the daughter of the late John M. and Nancy M. Brown and was a member of Lickville Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Furman D. Chapman; son, Dennis L. Chapman; daughter, Betty C. Bennett; brother, Samuel R. Brown; two sisters, Raye B. Garrison and Nancy B. Raines; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was held April 18 at Lickville Presbyterian Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

BETTY CAROLYN FRADY BURGESS
Betty Carolyn Frady Burgess, 75, of Piedmont, wife of Ralph V. Burgess, died Monday, April 16, 2012, at St. Francis Hospital.
Born in Iva, she was a daughter of the late David Rufus and Naomi Autrey Frady.  She retired from Hoechst Celanese.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by son, Richard V. Burgess of Gray Court; daughter, Tina L. Mitchell of Simpsonville; sister, Myrtice Smith of Greenville; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2012, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.  Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel with burial at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the residence.

QUINCY RAGSDALE
WILLIAMSTON – John Quincy Ragsdale, 92, widower of Bobbie Elizabeth Henderson Ragsdale, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at his residence.
Born January 3, 1920 in Williamston, SC, he was the son of the late John R. and Ida Mae Martin Ragsdale.  He was a graduate of Williamston High School and the Carolina School of Commerce in Anderson, SC, served in the U. S. Marine Corps during World War II as Chief Aviations Supply Sergeant, and retired from Barton Grocery Company in Anderson, SC, in 1978.  An active member of Trinity Baptist Church, he sang in the choir and served as a deacon.
He is survived by daughters, Joan Ragsdale (Gary Hand), Melissa Duffie (Tom Schweitzer), Donna Graddick (Dr. Steve Graddick), all of Greenville, SC, and Cindy Thompson, of Williamston, SC; son, Rodney Ragsdale (Beth Waddell), of Williamston, SC; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Ragsdale, of Winnsboro, SC; a sister, Betty Volkert, of Augusta, GA; a brother-in-law, Col. Hugh Maxwell, of Altamonte Springs, FL; sisters-in-law, Margaret Martin (Johnny Martin), Sue Henderson and Hazel Henderson, all of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Denna Crawford, Lesley Childress (Randy), Jeff Ragsdale (Lia Clardy), Matthew Waddell, Jennifer Godfrey (Josh), Dillon Thompson, Megan Graddick and Heather Thompson; great-grandchildren, Brantley Godfrey, John Quincy “Max” Waddell, Drake Crawford, Drew Crawford, Karlee Crawford, Chelsey Hudgens and Dustin Hudgens; and a great-great-grandchild, Rylee Crawford.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a son, John “Rags” Quincy Ragsdale, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, from 6-9 p.m. at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Robbie Robertson and the Rev. Landrum Reece officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the residence.
