Skipper to represent District One in Sheriff’s Association

Anderson County Sheriff John Skipper was recently elected District One Representative for the South Carolina Sheriffs Association (SCSA). The Association is composed of the 46 sheriffs across the state, who, along with a small staff of personnel, work together to encourage crime prevention and citizen safety legislation. The Association also provides training to law enforcement personnel and education programs for its members.

The board position of District Representative is an elected position. The counties that comprise District One include Abbeville, Anderson, Cherokee, Greenville, Greenwood, Laurens, McCormick, Oconee, Pickens, Spartanburg, Union and York

District One Representative is responsible for attending the association’s quarterly board meetings and representing the sheriffs in his district on various board matters.

Nominations and elections were held in the month of March and announced at the associations most recent quarterly business meeting, on April 19th. The new 2012-2013 South Carolina Sheriffs Association Board and District Representatives will be sworn into office at the SCSA Annual Conference banquet on July 18, 2012.
