Two people whose Piedmont home was being burglarized wound up being arrested and one of them shot in the leg while the burglars remain at large. The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office arrested 27-year old Jasmine Latasha McGee and 23-year old Byron Deon Robinson in connection with the attempted burglary and subsequent shooting which occurred over the weekend at 1072 Piedmont Golf Course Road.

According to reports, the Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident initially because Robinson and McGee’s home was in the process of being burglarized. While McGee was being threatened by two black males dressed in black clothing, masks and gloves armed with at least one handgun, Robinson returned to the residence. Upon entering Robinson was shot in the leg by one of the suspects, authorities said.

Evidence obtained during the initial investigation of the incident location led to the execution of a search warrant which resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of cocaine and marijuana.

As a result, arrest warrants for Trafficking in Cocaine and Distribution of a Schedule I drug – 1st offense were obtained and served against both Robinson and McGee.

Robinson has been placed on a temporary commitment and will receive a bond hearing upon release from the hospital. McGee was taken to the Greenville County Detention Center and place on a $30,000 bond.

The two suspects responsible for the burglary and shooting of Robinson have yet to be identified and the incident remains under investigation.
