Seniors prepare for Graduation

Palmetto, Wren and Woodmont seniors are preparing for graduation ceremonies to be held over the next few days. Baccalaureate Services for Palmetto High School graduates will be held Sunday, June 3 at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium. Rev. Eric Boggs, pastor at Beech Springs Tabernacle, will be the featured speaker.

Kendall Chaplin Mauldin will welcome guests. Adam Reid Wardlaw will give the invocation.

The Palmetto High Chorus will have a musical presentation. Ashton Brooke Thompson will sing the congregational hymn “We Will Glorify.”

Mandy Jamelia Tate will read from scripture and Morgan Leigh Norton will lead a prayer.

James Riley Alverson will introduce the guest speaker. Pastor Boggs will deliver a message entitled “From Consumers to Producers.”

Vitaliy S. Shkararadyuk will pronounce the benediction.

Palmetto High Graduation ceremonies will be held at Clemson’s Littlejohn Coliseum Tuesday, June 5 at 2 p.m.

Pledge of Allegiance will be led by Honor Grad Landon Rae Bulloch. Senior Singers will sing the National Anthem.

Honor Grad Erica Michelle Arrington will give the invocation and Honor Grad Austin Brady Bannister will welcome guests.

Salutatorian Lauren Michelle Connelly will give her student address.

Palmetto High Principal Dr. Mason Gary will introduce platform guests and present diplomas with the assistance of School District One Board Chairman Fred Alexander, Superintendent Dr. Wayne Fowler, Assistant Principal Mike Kelly and Assistant Principal Brian Couch.

Honor Grad Sarah Wilder Phillips will have closing remarks.

The Palmetto High Concert Band will lead the Alma Mater and Honor Grad Amelia Rose Abbott will give the benediction.

Wren Baccalaureate Services were held May 20. Guest Speaker was Pastor Dale Sellers, Assistant Pastor at Mount Zion, who is the father of senior and Honor Graduate Lydia Sellers.

Wren High School will graduate 387 seniors at 10 a.m. June 5 at Clemson’s Littlejohn Coliseum.

Wren Honor Grad Caleb Melton will give the invocation. The NJROTC Color Guard will present colors and Honor Grad Kirstie Lorentz will lead the pledge to the flag.

Honor Grad Mary Stewart Leatherwood will sing the national anthem.

Honor Grad and Student Body President Clark Merritt will welcome guests.

Special music will be provided by Teena Chinn and Senior Concert Choir Members. Soloists will include Honor Grad Christopher Darr and Graduate Nancy Moon.

Wren High Principal G. Robert Binnicker will recognize honors.

Valedictorian Alex Batson will give his graduation address, “With Due Credit.”

Salutatorian Joy Leftwich will give her gradjuation address, “Upon The Doorsteps Of Destiny.”

School officials remind those attending commencement services to refrain from loud expressions for individual graduates because they detract from the recognition due the next graduate in line. Persons who choose to be disruptive during the ceremony will be escorted from the coliseum.

Woodmont High Graduation will be this Friday, June 1 at 7 p.m. at Furman’s Timmons Arena.

The Journal will publish a special salute to Palmetto, Wren and Woodmont graduates in the June 6 issue. The special section will feature class pictures, honor grad photos, list of all graduates and awards.
