JOE P. SMITH SR.
Joe Pressley Smith Sr., 88, of Anderson, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at his home.
Born in Elbert County, GA, he was the son of the late James Victor Smith and the late Florrie Ann Stamps Smith. He was a veteran of the US Navy during World War II.
He worked at Daniels Construction and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his children, Ralph Donnie Smith of Pendleton, James Ronnie Smith and Judy Bannister, both of Anderson, and Cathy Gentry of Starr; sister, Dorothy Alverson of Pelzer; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held June 8 in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

HENRY ‘TONY’ WEBB
Henry Lamar “Tony” Webb, 82, of Belton, husband of Barbara B. Webb, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at his home.
Born in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Dudley Hampton Webb and the late Bessie King Webb.
He was a veteran of the S.C. National Guard, retired from the U.S. Post Office and was a member of Whitefield Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Brett H. Webb of Pendleton, Theresa W. Mangum of Williamston, and Commander Richard F. Webb of Pearl Harbor, HI; seven grandchildren; and sisters, Marilyn Jones of Anderson and Barbara Bowman of Anderson.
Funeral service was held June 9 at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Interment followed at New Silver Brook Cemetery.

ALICE A. BROOME
Alice Lenora Arnold Broome, 87, widow of Joseph Daniel Broome, Sr., died June 8, 2012 at Ashlan Village in Lyman.
Born in Fingerville, she was a member of the Duncan First Baptist Church. She was a retired teacher from Abbeville High School.
She is survived by five children, Anne Jordan of Piedmont, Joyce Dunn of Inman, Jean Duncan of Lugoff, Robin Warren of Eldersburg, MD and Joey Broome of West Columbia; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Rebecca Skipper of Columbia and Aurelia Smith of Cambria, CA.
Funeral services were held Sunday at Wood Mortuary. Burial followed at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Abbeville.

BOYD K. BATSON
Boyd Keith Batson, 70, of Seneca, died Saturday, June 9, 2012.
Born in Pickens County, he was the son of the late Taylor and Lucille Hart Batson.
He was a retired salesman and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving is his daughter, Kelly Martin of Iva; son, Keith Batson of Clemson; two sisters, Jane Cantrell of Easley and Brenda McCall of Piedmont; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Tuesday in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
MARY STEPHENS
Mary Stephens, 85, of Greenville, widow of Jesse Dewey Stephens, died Sunday, June 10, 2012 at her home.
Born in Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late John Tannery and Annie Riddley.
She was a retired textile weaver at Anderson Mill and attended Oak Crest Baptist Church.
She is survived by daughter, Margaret Noble of Greenville; son, John Stephens of Pelzer; sister, Virginia Moore of Atlanta; brothers, R.B. Tannery of Anderson, Charles Tannery of Phoenix, James Tannery of Anderson; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
Graveside service was held Wednesday, June 13 at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
