Williamston Police Officers investigated incidents involving a bullet hole in a driver’s door, assault of a pregnant woman, controlled substances and couterfeit money. Among incidents investigated were: June 24 – A bundle of 50 Greenville News Sunday newspapers were reported stolen from Fast Fuel, 207 West Main St. by a white male in a black Chevrolet truck. The newspapers were valued at $50. Sgt. D. W. Bryant investigated.

June 24 – Cindy Marie Beam, 50, 38 Goodriche St., Pelzer was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and outstanding bench warrant after she was observed walking in the area of Greenville Dr. and Market St. Sgt. E. T. Hutchins investigated.

June 22 – Tania Mariel Resendiz Martinez, 23, 106 Harper St., Williamston was arrested for no SC drivers license at a license check point at the intersection of Academy St. and Longview St. K. D. Lollis investigated.

June 23 – Gabriel Garcia Aguilar, 35, 200 HI Taylor Rd., Williamston was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident, no SC drivers license, operating an uninsured vehicle and no license plate after WPD received a call reporting a possible vehicle accident at Gossett St. and West Main. Reports state when officers arrived they observed an unoccupied 2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac partially off the roadway and making contact with a street sign. The vehicle had what appeared to be a bullet hole in the driver’s door. After about 10 minutes of searching the area, officers observed Aguilar walking back to the area. He stated that he had given a white female a ride into town and that the vehicle had run out of gas. He stated the female had left walking and that the bullet hole was from “not long ago.” J. June 22 – Joy Yvonne George, 45, 341 A Maxcy Dr., Belton was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and open container after a pickup truck was observed at a driver license check point at Main St. and Oak Drive. A pill bottle with no label and containing three “Lortabs” was found in a purse in the vehicle. SC C. Trotter investigated.

June 23 – Darren Lin Smith, 38, 14 Academy Dr., Williamston was arrested for assault, resisting arrest and public disorderly conduct after an incident at 14 Academy St. According to reports Smith allegedly struck a 13 year old in the jaw during a birthday party for Smith’s two year old son. June 24 – Michael Lee Sammons, 21, 110 Davis St., Williamston was arrested for criminal domestic violence after a physical altercation incident with a 21 year old female who is four months pregnant. J. Rogers investigated.

June 24 – Steven Smith, 47, 589 Hwy. 8 Pelzer was arrested for failure to stop for a blue light, loitering for purpose of engaging in drug activity and driving under suspension for DUI after a red Ford truck was observed on Greenville Dr. with a defective headlight. June 18 – ACE Hardware, 29 Pelzer Ave., Williamston reported a shoplifting incident in which a black male placed various tools inside his jacket and pants pocket and then left the store without paying for the items. The items were valued at $444. D. M. Stipe investigated.

June 18 – Heather Renee Whitmore, 21, 17 Virginia Dr, Williamston reported she was approached by an unknown female while walking on Davis St. The two women argued and Whitmore reported being struck in the head several times. K. D. Lollis investigated.

June 19 – Harold Maurice Dean, 55, 9 Washington St., Williamston was arrested for outstanding bench warrant for driving under suspension and disregarding a stop sign. Sgt. E. T Hutchins investigated.

June 20- Derrell H Lindley, 69, 629 E. Highway 8, Pelzer was placed on trespass notice for 24 East Main St. Williamston. Sgt. D. W. Bryant, Capt. E. S. Russell investigated.

June 20 – Codes officer J. Harris issued several notices to comply for excessive grass and weeds on McAlister and Lee St.

june 20 – Kimberly Yvonne Cape, 37, 105 S Green St,. Williamston was issued a summons for a dog running at large after officers responded to call made by a neighbor who reported she was chased into her residence by a pit bull type dog black with white markings. June 21 – Daniel Tyson McCollum, 32, 341 Williams Rd., Pelzer was arrested for license plate expired and driving under suspension (2nd) after a Silver vehicle was observed on Anderson Drive with a defective tail light. M. E. Simmons investigated.

June 15 – An employee at McDonalds, 4 West Main St. reported receiving a $50 bill that was confirmed to be counterfeit. M. E. Simmons investigated.

June 21 – Gregory Wayne McCarson, 48, 1 E. Third St,. Williamston was arrested for outstanding warrants in Pelzer. Sgt. K. J. Winn, M. E. Simmons investigated.

June 21 – Thomas Henry Grant, 21, 14 Spring St., Pelzer was arrested for outstanding bench warrant for failure to appear on a shoplifting charge, after WPD was notified that SCDNR had him in custody. Sgt. K. J. Winn investigated.
