Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated incidents involving meth, marijuana and the theft of an electric wheelchair. Among incidents investigated were the following: EASLEY – July 13 – A.D. Hendrix was on patrol on St. Paul Road when he saw a silver Chrysler doing 48 in a 35 mph zone. The driver also rolled through a stop sign. Upon stopping the driver, Aaron McCoy, WM, 21, 5’9″, 160 pounds, of Greenville, he subsequently found 14 grams of marijuana on McCoy’s person. McCoy was issued a citation for simple possession.

July 13 – E.E. Standard observed a vehicle traveling in a suspicious manner at Traybon Court and Greystone Court. After observing the vehicle stop and the driver and passenger exchanging seats, as the driver also tossed a duffel bag into the trunk, Standard made a stop. Johnny Blackston, WM, 48, 5’7″, 145 pounds, brn/hazel, who had moved to the passenger seat, was found to be driving under suspension. The second driver, identified as Rickie Wooten (no description available) appeared very nervous according to the report. Standard called and asked for a K-9 unit and Blackston was read his rights. The search revealed more than a dozen syringes of methamphetamine along with other quantities of the drug. Blackston took full responsibility for the duffel bag and was placed in custody.

July 14 – R. Anderson was dispatched to 104 Jessie Dr. where Tenille Gonzalez reported the theft of several items from her house including her 1999 Isuzu Rodeo. The loss was estimated at $3170.

PELZER

July 13 – R. Anderson responded to 13 Stewart St. where Rita Smith reported that her neighbor Misty Smith, WF, 29, 5’5″, 150 pounds, brn/grn, had entered her home and assaulted her, striking her with her fist. Smith denied that any assault took place. She was placed on trespass notice but was not arrested.

PIEDMONT

July 13- D.L. Brinston was on patrol in the area of River Road and I-85 when he saw a red Taurus matching the description of a suspect vehicle. He stopped the car and subsequently found that the driver, Kevin Poe, WM, 32, 6’4″, 220 pounds, brn/grn, of Belton was driving under suspension and wanted by the GCSO for non-payment of child support. He was taken into custody.

July 14 – L.E. Johnson was dispatched to 709 Anderson St. where Richard Childers reported that a black and tan Husky had killed 9 chickens, a duck, and a guinea hen in his yard. The dog had been secured in a pen and was turned over to animal control.

July 14 – D.L. Brinston was in the area of the Executive Inn on Hwy. 153 when he saw a juvenile acting very suspiciously. Upon making contact, he detected a strong chemical odor on the teenage male. He asked several questions and eventually his mother came down from her motel room. Reports state she also smelled strongly of chemicals like those used to manufacture methamphetamine. She admitted to have been smoking meth that day. The report does not indicate whether an arrest was made or not.

WILLIAMSTON

July 14 – D.L. Brinston responded to 126 Cromer Rd. where Leslie Bruce, an amputee, reported the theft of his electric wheel chair and the charger for its battery. It had been in the storage shed. The loss was estimated at $5200.

July 14 – J.K. Billingsley was dispatched to 429 McAlister Rd. where Salvadorean Rodriguez reported the theft of an IPod from his truck. The loss was estimated at $100.
