Woodmont Middle School will hold their 3rd annual 6th grade Rookie Camp on August 8 from 8:30a.m. to 1:00 pm.
The purpose of the Rookie Camp is to invite students and their parents/guardians to their new school and to alleviate some of the stress and uncertainties that they may be feeling transitioning from elementary to middle school, Assistant Principal Tiffany LaFerrara said. “Last year, we had over 150 students participate in the optional camp.”

As the students participate in ice-breaking activities, parents/guardians will meet the 6th grade team, guidance and administration for a Q & A session.

After the ice-breaking activities, the students will participate in break-out sessions concentrating on a variety of topics such as organization, lockers, agendas, IB Programme, general WMS facts and tour the school.

The students will then be treated to a pizza lunch and be given the opportunity to ask questions about their new school.
