Shoplifting groceries, thefts and other incidents were among those the Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated:

EASLEY – Sept. 15 – J.D. Sparkman responded to 3518 Hwy. 153 to the Bi-Lo where Dean Ruske, the store manager, reported the attempted theft of a bread rack from behind the store. He ran out and yelled at the driver of the truck who dumped the rack out and fled.

Sept. 15 – R.D. Smith responded to the Bi-Lo on Hwy. 153 where store manager Dean Ruske reported that Cathy Manley, WF, 51, 5’2″, 135 pounds, brn/grn had been apprehended shoplifting. Manley was taken into custody.

Sept. 17 – S.L. Steward was dispatched to 11402 Anderson Rd. where Charles Merck, who works at the site for Triangle Construction, reported the theft of a black iPad from the construction trailer. The loss was estimated at $600.

Sept. 17 – E.E. Standard responded to the Bi-Lo where store manager Dean Ruske reported that he had apprehended Kevin Cleveland, BM, 29, 5’10″, 150 pounds shoplifting several items valued at $60. Cleveland was taken into custody and was found to have one prior conviction for the same charge.

PELZER

Sept. 17 – J.G. Williams responded to 6 Fennell St. where he arrested Kevin Stilton, WM, 45, 6’, 200 pounds, brn/blue for cutting Jason Rogers’ extension cord in half with a chain saw during an argument. He was taken into custody.

PIEDMONT

Sept 15 – J.E. Scott was on patrol near the Spinx station at 2100 Hwy. 86 when he observed an unknown white male approaching cars asking for money. The male, identified as John Martin, 32, 6’2″, 200 pounds, of Belton, was found to have two warrants active for bad checks. He was taken into custody.

Sept. 16 – M. McCarty was dispatched to 1226 Westwood Dr. where Steve Maddox reported the theft of various items from his storage shed. The loss was estimated at $6270.

Sept. 16 – J.E. Scott responded to 107 Plymouth Dr. Bldg. G where Angela Pickelsimer reported the theft of her pink Moped, valued at $900.

Sept. 17 – E.E. Standard was dispatched to 204 Timms Rd.where Carmen Justice reported that someone had entered her vehicle and stolen items valued at $410.

Sept. 17 – S.L. Steward was dispatched to 515 Cely Lane where Christopher McNeill reported that someone had cut the tires on his car while he was out of town. The damage was estimated at $300.

Sept. 17 – S.L. Steward responded to 302 River Rd. where John Schafer of ReWa reported that someone had broken into the pump house and stolen approximately 100 feet of steel cable. The loss was estimated at $700.

Sept. 18 – D.L. Brinston responded to 2722 Hwy. 86 where Joel Holm reported that someone had entered his vehicle and removed $1000 in cash from the center console.

WILLIAMSTON

Sept. 14 – J.L. Martin responded to 349 Wesley Ellison Rd. where Myra Sanders reported that several items had been stolen from her rental property at that location. When she walked next door to 351 Wesley Ellison Road, she saw several of the items in and around the storage building at that address. Investigators were called.

Sept. 15 – M. McCarty responded to 100 Leland Heights where Tiffany Henderson reported the theft of a purse, various financial cards, and a ring from her vehicle. The loss was estimated at $619.

Sept. 16 – C.K. Cowan was dispatched to 207 Ridgecrest Way in reference to a domestic dispute. Upon arriving he learned from central dispatch that Talmadge Hairston, BM, 35, 6’, 160 pounds, blk/hazel was wanted on an active bench warrant. He was taken into custody.

Sept. 16 – C.M. Turner responded to 614 H I Taylor Rd. where James Duncan reported the theft of his concrete birdbath, valued at $300.
