Furman Coach to speak at AATC

Furman University Coach Bruce Fowler will be the guest speaker at the Anderson Area Touchdown Club weekly meeting on Friday, September 21. Coach Fowler is in his second season as head football coach after spending 9 seasons at Vanderbilt University and 16 years as assistant coach on the Paladin staff. He began his coaching career as an assistant at Wren High School for 3 years before returning to Furman as a graduate assistant.

Weekly awards are presented each Friday to outstanding area players and coach. The honorees on Friday, September 14 were: Offensive – Matt Williams, BHP; Defensive – Ben Boulware, T.L. Hanna; Lineman – TK Mattress, Westside and Coach – John Boggs, Westside

The Anderson Area Touchdown Club meets each Friday at the Anderson County Library (300 North McDuffie Street). A meal is served at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at 12:10 p.m.

Visitors are welcome and Furman alumni are encouraged to attend to hear Coach Fowler. The cost of a meal for visitors is $15.
