Upstate Honor Flight is a program that flies World War II veterans to Washington, DC to see the memorial built in their honor and allows them to experience recognition for their sacrifice and service. Palmetto High School AFJROTC cadets and the Mustang Regiment attended the return of 72 WWII veterans on the Upstate Honor Flight at GSP Airport on Tuesday. Cadets conducted a saber salute and provided Color Guard as each veteran received a “hero’s welcome.” The Mustang Regiment band performed the National Anthem and a service song medley continually throughout the ceremony.
