Merry Christmas pageant planned for November 18

The Williamston Merry Christmas Pageant for children ages 1 day to 13 years will be held at 2 p.m. Sat. Nov. 18 at the Williamston Municipal Center.

Dress attire is Christmas pajamas and Sunday best, Christmas dresses and pageant dresses.

Categories will include 1 day to 1 year – Mr. and Miss Baby Merry Christmas; 2-3 years – Mr. and Miss Toddler Merry Christmas; and 4-5 years Mr. and Miss Tiny Merry Christmas.

Overalls for 1 day to age 5 will include pajama wear, photogenic, best hair, best eyes, best smile and Prince and Princess Merry Christmas.

Age 6-7 years – Mr. and Miss Mini Merry Christmas; age 8-9 years – Mr. and Miss Young Merry Christmas; age 10-11 years – Mr. and Miss Junior Merry Christmas and age 12-13 years – Mr. and Miss Teen Merry Christmas.

Categories for ages 6-13 include overalls, talent with first, second and third runners-up, photogenic, best hair, best eyes, best smile and King and Queen Merry Christmas.

There will be no double crowning, one winner per age category plus overall winners and out of town judges to select the winners.

All crowned winners will be invited to appear at the Williamston Christmas Park opening on Saturday, Nov. 24 and the Williamston Christmas parade on Sat., Dec. 8.

Deadline for entry is Thursday, Nov. 15. There will be a mandatory contestant rehearsal on Friday, Nov. 16 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Entry forms are available at the Williamston Municipal Center, The Journal , K&M Dance House and Debra’s Designs.

Entry fee is $25 with additional fees for each category. Tickets to the event are $5 per person.

The pageant is sponsored by the Springwater Committee and K&M Dance House.

All proceeds will go toward Mineral Spring Park.
