The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the discovery of human remains in Lake Hartwell.
According to reports, Anderson County Sheriff’s Investigators located a suspicious barrel near Asbury Park at Lake Hartwell in Anderson, SC late Wednesday afternoon.
The barrel was opened this morning by investigators and personnel from the Coroner’s Office and was found to contain human female remains. The body has been identified, but the identity will not be released until the family has been notified.
The investigation into the cause and manner of death continues.
