With Christmas and New Years falling on a Tuesday, area municipalities and businesses will have special hours and schedules for their services. The following schedules will be in effect for the Town of Williamston, Anderson County Convenience Centers, the Town of West Pelzer and The Journal.
Also this issue of The Journal features Christmas Greetings from many area businesses and short Letters to Santa from three area elementary schools. We hope you enjoy reading them. Holiday Schedules
The Town of Williamston trash pickup schedule will be as follows:
Week of Christmas – Ward 1 and 2 will be picked up on Wed. Dec. 26; Ward 3 on Thurs., Dec. 27 and Ward 4 on Fri. Dec. 28.
Week of New Years – Ward 1 on Mon. Dec. 31. New Years Day no pickup. Ward 2 on Wed., Jan 2; Ward 3 on Thurs., Jan. 3; Ward 4 on Fri. Jan. 4.
The Anderson County Convenience Centers, Starr C&D Landfill and the Anderson Regional MRF will observe a holiday schedule.
All Centers will be closed on December 24 and December 25 and reopen on December 26, 2012. All Centers will be closed on New Years Day, January 1, 3013 and rewill open on Wed., January 2, 2013.
The Town of West Pelzer will close Town Hall on Monday, Christmas Eve, and on Christmas Day. The office will also close on Mon., Dec. 31, New Year’s Eve, and Tues., Jan. 1, 2013, New Year’s Day.
Garbage pickup for the week of Christmas will be on Wed., Dec. 26, instead of Tuesday. Regular operations will resume the following week.
The Journal will have special deadlines and amended office hours for the Christmas and New Year holiday period
Deadline for news and advertising for the December 26 issue will be Thursday, Dec. 20 at noon.
(The Dec. 26 issue will be delivered in home and on local newstands on Wednesday, Dec. 26.)
Deadline for the Jan. 2, 2013 issue will be 1 p.m. New Years Eve, Monday, Dec. 31.
Journal Holiday Office Hours
The office will be closed Monday, Dec. 24 – Thursday, Dec. 27 for the Christmas holiday.
The office will be open on Friday Dec. 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The office will be open New Year’s eve, Monday, Dec. 31 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The office closed on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013.
The office will be open Wednesday, Jan. 2 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m
Closed Thursday Jan. 3
The office will be open Friday, Jan. 4 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Journal will resume regular office hours on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 9 a.m.

Christmas Park – Santa will be in the Scout Hut Thursday-Sunday during through Sunday, Dec. 23. Santa’s hours are 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The park will remain lighted through Jan. 1, 2013
