A huge limb fell from an oak tree and crashed onto a house on South Hamilton Street Thursday night. The limb heavily damaged the unoccupied home. Williamston police officers removed smaller limbs from the roadway. High winds were expected after a cold front pushed through. As a result, a wind advisory is in effect until noon Saturday for the upstate area. Winds are expected to be west 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 to 50 mph at times weather officials said. Trees and power lines could be knocked down by the winds… resulting in isolated power outages. Loose objects will be blown about. The winds will steadily diminish early Saturday.
