MARGARET ANN WILLIAMS
WILLIAMSTON – Margaret Ann Kay Williams, 80, of Williamston, widow of Earle C. “Pete” Williams, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born in Belton, she was a daughter of the late James Breazeale and Alice Phillips Kay.  She retired from Mount Vernon Mills after 38 years of service. A member of Calvary Baptist Church, she was a long time choir member and worked with the AWANA program.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Philip E. and Eunice Williams, Marion K. and Melissa Williams, all of Williamston; special friend, Paul Myers, of Pelzer; brother, James B. Kay, of Belton; sister, Frances Hallman, of Columbia; and grandchildren, Elizabeth Anne Williams, Victoria Ruth Williams, Micah Rachel Williams and Matthew Benjamin Williams.
She was predeceased by a sister, Eleanor Kay.
Visitation was 1-3 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church. Funeral services followed at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Mark Roberts officiating.  Burial was held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.
The family is at the home of Philip and Eunice Williams, 101 Shorebrook Drive, Williamston.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 10 Academy Street, Williamston, SC 29697.

WILLIE MAE MILLIGAN
Willie Mae Wright Milligan, 87, of Pelzer, widow of James Edwin Milligan, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville.
Born in Elberton, GA, she was a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Ossie Lee Whitsel Wright.  She retired from Union Carbide and was a member of Eastview Baptist Church in Pelzer.
Surviving are daughter, Lynn Kelly of Pelzer; son, James Royce of Piedmont; sisters, Ovie Rainey of Greenville and Kate Milligan of Belton; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 20 at Eastview Baptist Church.  Burial  followed at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

HENRY MCGOWAN
Henry McGowan, 86, died January 13, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Slater, he was the son of the late Sam Foster and Ida Mae McGowan Sloan.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Surviving are sons, John Henry McGowan of Pelzer, Ricky McGowan of Piedmont, Timothy McGowan of Greenville and Deron McGowan of Taylors; sisters, Effie Johnson of Washington, DC and Elizabeth Franklin of Anderson; brother, Leroy Sloan of Greenville; 13 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral service was held Saturday at Watkins, Garrett & Woods Mortuary. Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

BARBARA ‘BUGSY’ SHIPMAN
Barbara Jean “Bugsy” Dean Shipman, 69, of Pelzer, widow of Elbert Lee Shipman, died Thursday, January 17, 2013 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born in Pelzer, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Cornelia Bruce Dean.  She was a former employee at Riverside Nursing Center in Piedmont and was a member of Life Journey Church.
Surviving are sons, Roger Dale Shipman of Belton, and Robert Lee Shipman of the home; sisters, Linda White and Judy Brock, both of Pelzer, Jo Ann Shaw and Gayle Eades, both of Williamston, and Wanda Lecroy of Belton; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 20 in the funeral home chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.  Burial followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.
The family is at the home of a sister, Jo Ann Shaw, 1 Pine Lane, Williamston.

LUTHER S. LIGONS JR.
Luther S. Ligons, Jr., born in Williamston to Luther and Allean Ligons, died January 16, 2013.
Surviving are his wife, Willie Mae Ligons; children; grandchildren; and two sisters, Ida Sullivan of Williamston and Minister Mary White of Anderson.
Military Honors and Interment were held Wednesday, January 23 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, in Michigan.

REV. L. ROY ALLEN
Reverend L. Roy Allen, 95, husband of the late Mildred Holtzclaw Allen, died Friday, January 18, 2013 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late Henry Allen and the late Elsie Mae Ivester Allen.
He retired as pastor for the Pentecostal Holiness Church having pastored churches at Clinton, Piedmont, Wellington, Greer, Long Branch, Greenwood, Grendal and Friendship PHC. He was a member of Wellington PHC.
He is survived by his son, Danny Allen of the home; sisters, Juanita Atkins of Rock Hill and Jeanette Fant of Belton.
Funeral service was held Monday, January 21 in the chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Entombment followed in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.

MINNIE LEE STEGALL HARPER
Minnie Lee Stegall Harper, 90, widow of Earl W. Harper, died Friday, January 18, 2013.
Born in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Tilman and Lillie Mae Stegall.
She was retired from the School District of Anderson County and was a member of Tremont Church of God.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Harper Moody, three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Edith Gwinn; and one brother, Jack Stegall.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, January 21 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Burial followed in Graceland Cemetery, West.

DEMARIS MCALISTER
Demaris Ann Kirk McAlister, 68, wife of R. Wesley McAlister, of Donalds, died Friday, January 18, 2013 at Hospice of the Piedmont.
Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late John Franklin and Hulda Jane Shavers Kirk. She attended Bethany World Outreach Church and was retired from Flexible Technology.
She was twice married, first to the late Dennis E. Gilmer.
Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are; a son, Preston E. Gilmer of Honea Path; step-son, Derek McAlister of Greenwood; two daughters, Rita Scott of Honea Path and Tara Boling of Travelers Rest; brother, Darrell Kirk of Piedmont; two sisters, Carolyn Abbott of Fountain Inn and Marlene Whitworth of Greenville; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 21 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Eastview Cemetery.

JOHN CEPEK
John Joseph Cepek, 75, husband of Joyce Stegall Cepek, died Saturday, January 19, 2013.
Surviving are five children; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Tuesday at Beech Springs Tabernacle.

GUS CRAWFORD, SR.
WEST PELZER – Leon Augustus “Gus” Crawford, Sr., 94, formerly of West Pelzer, widower of Rebecca E. “Becky” Rhyne Crawford died peacefully Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home in Anderson.
He was twice married, first to the late Medora Sawyer Crawford.
Mr. Crawford was a retired brick mason and a member of the Brick Layers’ Association Union.  He was a member of the Williamston First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, usher, and Sunday School teacher.
He was also a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of WWII.
Surviving are sons, Leon A. “Lee” Crawford, Jr. (Nancy) of Greenville, William David Crawford of Pelzer; daughter, Gail Crawford Crowe (Tony) of Pelzer; brother, James Carroll Crawford of Loganville, GA; grandsons, Kevin Tollison, Adam, Trevor, and Seth Crawford, Ryan and Eric Crowe; eight great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Robert Sawyer (Bobby) Crawford.
Visitation was 1-2 pm on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Williamston. Funeral services followed at 2 pm with Rev. Brad Bardin and Mr. Tony Crowe officiating. Burial was at the Little River Baptist Church Cemetery, Honea Path.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 477, Williamston, SC 29697.

SANDRA SMITH
Sandra Babson Smith, 51, of Piedmont, wife of Mike Summerville, died January 19, 2013.
Born in Charleston County, she was a daughter of Annie Pearl Carroll Myers of Summerville and the late Luther “Ray” Babson.  She was formerly employed with Spheris and a member of Real Life Church.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by daughters, Heather Day of Piedmont, Ashley Smith of Piedmont, Sarah Smith of Williamston; sisters, Cathy Hollingsworth of Summerville, Marie Price of Mt. Pleasant; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 5 pm on Friday, January 25 in the chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.
The family will receive friends following the service at the home of Heather and Mark Day, 216 Creekstone Drive, Piedmont.

BONNIE WARREN
Bonnie Faye Fuller Warren, 63, of Pelzer, widow of Rufus Roy Warren, died Monday, January 21, 2013 at her home.
Born in Fair Play, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Bennett and Pauline Richardson Fuller.  She was a homemaker.
Surviving are daughter, Melissa Adams of Belton, Bessie Diane Miller of Piedmont; brothers, Rufus Bennett Fuller, Ralph Fuller; sister, Annette Moore; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm on Thursday, January 24 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.
Funeral services will be at 2 pm Friday, January 25 in the funeral home chapel with burial in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

CHARLES ROY STREET
Charles Roy Street, 63, of Williamston, died Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Medical Center South in Montgomery, AL.
Born in Piedmont, OH, he was the son of the late Lindley Otha Street and the late Mary Louise Wolfe Street. He was husband of Laughing Waters “Lassy” King Street.
He was a long haul truck driver with Auto Zone. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the VietNam era. He was a member of Williamston Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Bobbi Jean Peyton of Port Republic, MD, and Charlene Roy Brenning of Williamston; three brothers, Patrick Moore of Homerville, OH, Michael Moore of Barnesvile, OH, and James R. Moore of Pittsburgh, PA; three sisters, Patricia Cable of Beaver, PA, Nadine Keiser of Barnesville, OH, and Nanette Craig of Chillicothe, MO; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held Friday, January 25, at 11. a.m.  at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Interment will follow at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 6-8 p.m.
