The Williamston Police Department has recently undergone some changes in personnel as the result of a interview and rehire process implemented under the new administration. Williamston Police Chief Tony Taylor said that three officers have resigned and another terminated in response to a re-organization process the department is going through.

Chief Taylor said that one of the officers that resigned had gone through the interview process and was rehired but chose to resign and will go to work with another law enforcement agency. Taylor said the officer was an asset to the department. Another officer was terminated after because of issues that came during the re-interview process.

Taylor said three of the vacant positions have already been filled. He said the department plans to hire three additional officers in July to bring the department up to full force.
