LOUISE SELMAN
Ella Louise Selman, 87, died Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Oliver Washington (O.W.) and Mattie Hamby Selman.  She was retired from the Kendall Co. and a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 2 in the funeral home chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.  Burial followed in Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery.

SHARON M. TIMMS
Sharon Meyer Timms, 49, of Greer, died January 30, 2013 at her home.
Born in Oconee County, daughter of Lavetta Crowe Meyer and the late Johnny Meyer, she was employed at Bi-Lo and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving is her husband, Audie Dale Timms, Sr., of the home; step-children, Amy Timms Kotewa and Audie Dale Timms, Jr.; one sister, Karen Meyer Richardson of Piedmont; and two grandchildren.

JEFFERSON PAUL ‘PEPAW’ MCKINNEY JR.
Jefferson Paul McKinney Jr., 77, died Sunday, January 27, 2013 in Tulsa, OK. He was born in Greenville.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue McKiney of Tulsa, OK; two daughters, Darlene Reed and Dee-D Balinger of Derby, KS; two sons, Jeff McKinney of Murrells Inlet and Nathan McKinney of Wichita, KS; five sisters, Ann Prather Kurth, Paula Holden and Brenda Grigsby of Anderson, Linda Tinsley of Simpsonville, and Susan Watkins of Williamston; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran.
Graveside services were held Friday, February 1 at El Paso Cemetery in Derby, KS.

JERRY GILLESPIE
BELTON – Jerry Dale Gillespie, 63, of 1606 Camelot Forrest, husband of Patricia “Patsy” Todd Gillespie, to whom he was married for 34 years on April 7, 2012, died Thursday, January 31, 2013 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.
Born in Pelzer, he was a son of the late Walter Lewis and Mary Ellen Land Gillespie.  A U. S. Army veteran, he was a contractor, a Mason, and attended Southside Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Jeremy Kelly Gillespie, of Danielsville, GA, and Blaze Donovan Gillespie, of Raeford, NC; brothers, Irby “Smokey” Gillespie, of Piedmont, and Danny Gillespie, of Greer; sister, Cathy Powell, of Williamston; and grandchildren, Jordan Wiley, Jared Wiley, Jaden Gillespie and Mason Gillespie.
Visitation was 3-5 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2013, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.  Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2013 at the funeral home chapel.  Burial followed at the M. J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery.

REBA ‘TOM’ ELLENBURG
Reba Grace Deck Ellenburg, wife of the late Sherwood Ellenburg, died Monday, January 28, 2013 at AnMed Health Center.
She was born in Pelzer to the late Grady and Bessie Jordan Deck.
She retired from Rhodes Furniture in Geenville.
She was a charter member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church.
Surviving are three children, Mickie Enlow, Debbie Ellis, and Woody Ellenburg, all of Easley; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Martin of Greenwood and Willie Garrison of Piedmont.
Funeral service was held Friday at Calvary Hill Baptist Church. Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

HARRY BARKER
Harry Dewey Barker, 92, of Pelzer, widower of Dollie Dyar Barker, died Wednesday, January 30, 2013.
Born in Augusta, GA, he was a son of the late John Washington and Annie Lee Marchant Barker.  A U. S. Army veteran of World War II, he retired from J. P. Stevens, Dunean Plant, and was a member of the Pelzer Church of God.
Surviving are daughters, Naomi B. Yarbrough of Honea Path, and Laveita Foster of Pine Mountain, GA; son, Dewey Joel Barker of Greenville; brother, Douglas Barker of Augusta, GA; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 2 at the funeral home chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.  Burial followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.
Family members are at their respective homes.

AMBER LYNN MCSWAIN
Amber Lynn McSwain, 24, of Piedmont, died Wednesday, January 30, 2013.
Born in Charleston, she was the daughter of Barry Lynn McSwain and Cindy Morgan McSwain.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by sister, Talina Buckhiester of Greenville; brother, Jeffrey McSwain of Piedmont; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Morgan of Greenville, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles McMurray of Greenville; and great-grandmother, Mrs. H.R. Saxon of Greenville.
Funeral service was held Saturday, February 3 in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest.
Burial followed in Graceland Cemetery, West.

SARA BROWN
Sara Wyatt Brown, 84, wife of the late Ernest Brown, died Saturday, February 2, 2013 at her  home.
Born in Easley, she was the daughter of the late Willie Thompson Wyatt, Sr. and the late Ethel Attaway Wyatt.
She was employed  by Southern Bell and a bookkeeper for Allistar C. Furman Insurance Agency in Greenville. She attended Young Memorial ARP Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Ann Brown of Anderson and K. Wyatt Merritt of Glen Ellyn, IL; brothers, Harold Wyatt of Piedmont, James Wyatt of Nakesville, VA and Gerald Wyatt of Easley; sister, Anne Gibson of Easley; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, February 5 at Corinth Baptist Church in Easley.

WILLIAM ALVIN BEDENBAUGH
William Alvin Bedenbaugh, 93, formerly of Joanna, died at the home of his grandson on Saturday, February 2, 2013 in Pickens.
He was the widower of Lucille Russell Bedenbaugh and was the son of the late John Pressley and Florence Harmon Bedenbaugh.
He retired from Greenwood Mills, was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church in Joanna and was a WWII U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda Croft of Simpsonville and Brenda Morgan of Dacusville; three brothers, Gurney Bedenbaugh of Piedmont, Coy Bedenbaugh of Lexington and Roy Bedenbaugh of N.C.; sister, Kathleen Riley; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services were held Monday, February 4 in the Newberry Memorial Gardens in Newberry.

BILL LABOONE
Joe Billie “Bill” LaBoone, 80, of Pelzer, died Friday, February 1, 2013 at Dayspring Health & Rehab.
Born in Anderson County, a son of the late James Oliver and Selma Gambrell LaBoone.
He retired from the Monaghan Plant of Milliken Corp. and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
Surviving are two sisters, Gloria Wynona Black and Betty Jean Barnes, both of Easley.
Funeral services were held Sunday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

HUBERT ‘BILL’ WILSON ASHMORE
Hubert “Bill” Wilson Ashmore, 86, husband of Juanita Crowe Ashmore, died Sunday, February 3, 2013.
Born in Greenville County, he was the son of the late Walter Lee and Mary Amanda Ashmore.
He served in the U.S. Army, was owner and operator of Ashmore’s Fishing Lake and was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving, in addition to his wife are son, Michael Ashmore; daughters, Barbara Pyle, Sandra Parham, and Patricia Whitten; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, February 6 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast Chapel in Simpsonville. Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

JEANNE N. MORRIS
Jeanne N. Morris, 74, of Greenville, widow of Anthony Ward Morris, died Sunday, February 3, 2013.
Born in Union, she was a daughter of the late Langom and Connie Young Neves.
She was employed by Greenville OB-GYN.
Surviving are her children, Joey Morris of Williamston and Pam Thomas of Greenville; three grandchildren; three brothers and a sister.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, February 6 in the downtown chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home. Burial followed at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

JOE LARK
Joseph “Joe” Allen Lark, 61, of Piedmont, husband of Linda Sue Linch Lark, died Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at his home.
Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Alton Robert and Mattie Thacker Lark.  He was formerly employed with J.P. Stevens Estes Plant.
Surviving in addition to his wife are sister, Bobbie Sue Nimmons of the home; brothers, Ronald A. Lark, James D. Lark, Ernest C. Lark, all of Piedmont.
Visitation will be held from 12:30-2:00 pm on Friday, February 8, 2013 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.
Graveside services will follow at 2:30 pm at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

MARY STEPHENS
Mary Sue Johnson Stephens, 80, of Piedmont, widow of Hoyt H. Stephens, died Monday, February 4, 2013 at the McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville.
Born in Piedmont, she was a daughter of the late Joe M. and Thelma Robinson Johnson. She retired from Carolina Blouse and attended Grove Station Baptist Church in Piedmont.
She is survived by her brother, Floyd L. Johnson of the home.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 7 at Grove Station Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Family members are at their respective homes.

MURRY BROCK
Murry Brock of Pelzer, died Friday, February 1, 2013 at his home.
Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Elliott and Tommie Lee Jenkins Brock.
Surviving are sisters, Freddie Nicholson of Pelzer and Rosella Blackmon of Anderson; brother, Richard Brock of Pelzer.
Funeral service was held Wednesday at Watkins, Garrett & Woods Mortuary with burial in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
