State Representative Anne Thayer, of District 8, is in serious condition in an Anderson hospital, as the result of complications from a medical procedure performed approximately ten days ago. The nature of the procedure has not been made public, but it has been described as routine. Thayer entered the AnMed hospital more than a week ago, and no date has been set for her release at this time.
Rep. Thayer is a second term incumbent, and was appointed to the House Judiciary Committee and its Constitutional Law subcommittee recently.
Anderson County Legislative Delegation Chairman Mike Gambrell said that the entire delegation is pulling for a swift and full recovery for Thayer. “Anne is an important part of the delegation. Aside from her individual legislative contributions, which are significant, she brings a gracious touch to our group. We are all very fond of Anne and look forward to seeing her back in Columbia soon.”
