Due to tremendous interest in the sports community, The Journal asked the School District One office about recent changes in coaching positions at Palmetto High School. According to Associate Superintendent David Havird, former Palmetto High Assistant Baseball Coach Matt Frasier is heading the Palmetto baseball program this spring.

The program has been under the leadership of Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Jody LeCroy for several years. Under LeCroy, the baseball program has enjoyed some success.

LeCroy will remain the Head Football Coach and AD for the fall sports season and the change will allow him to focus on spring training for Palmetto athletes including the weight room and track, according to Havird.

Palmetto’s track team is also breaking in their new facilities this season.
