GLENNIE HOPE
Glennie Purser Hope, 82, of Belton, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville.
Born in Union County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Z. V. and Emma Mullis Purser. She was a Baptist.
Surviving are daughter, Carolyn H. Stillwell of Belton; sisters, Maxine Rushing and Janet Rivard; brother, J. B. Purser; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 30 at the West Pelzer Baptist Church. Burial followed at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the home.

SHELBY JEAN SCHULTZ
Shelby Jean Simmons Schultz, 75, of Anderson, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Charlie and Claudia Jeannette Martin Simmons. She retired from BASF and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are her daughter, Jeannie Gable Kuehnel of Anderson; three sons, Jerry F. Gale, Johnny K. Stowe, Jr. of Anderson, and Spencer A. Stowe of Piedmont; two brothers, Rev. Charlie Ray Simmons of Kershaw and Donnie Simmons of Starr; sister, Diane Baldwin of Iva; 12 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday at Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel. Burial followed in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.

FRANCES ALLEN
Frances Rose Williams Allen, 84, of Pelzer, wife of Marvin Clifton Allen, died on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville.
Born in Pelzer, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin Frank and Audrey Bray Williams.  She was a homemaker and a member of Washington Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Ann Evatt of Williamston, Kathy Lewis of Easley, and Beth Parker of Pelzer; sons, Robert C. Allen of Fountain Inn, and Jerry Allen of Greenville; sisters, Margaret Pack of Belton, Shirley Black of Piedmont, Emma Bess Galloway of Pelzer, Sue Frasier of Greer, and Diane George of Piedmont; ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Saturday, March 30 at Washington Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Washington Baptist Church Building Fund, 208 Washington Church Road, Pelzer, SC 29669.

DORIS GAIL COKER
Doris Gail Coker, 73, of Greenville, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013.
Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Emma Lee Seymore McCurley.
She retired from Southern Weaving and was of the Christian faith.
She is survived by a son, John H. Manley, Jr. of Powdersville; one granddaughter; and a sister, Jean McGaha.
Funeral service was held Saturday, March 30 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Burial followed in Graceland Cemetery West.

CAROL BONDS
Laura Carol Whitaker Bonds, 74, of Williamston, wife of Benson Lee Bonds, Sr., died Friday, March 29, 2013 at Ellenburg Nursing Home.
Born in Maryville, TN, she was a daughter of the late John and Jewel Whitaker.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Clouds of Thunder Motorcycle Ministries.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter, Cheryl Mullins of Greenville; sons, Donald L. Hunt of Anderson, and Denver L. Hunt of Maryville, TN; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Monday at the M. J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Clouds of Thunder Motorcycle Ministries.

DOUGLAS CHAPMAN, JR.
Douglas “Dougie” O’Dell Chapman, Jr., 40, of Seneca, died Sunday, March 24, 2013.
Born in Greenville, he was a son of Mary Louise Calbert Swaney and stepfather Douglas Merritt Swaney and the late Douglas O’Dell Chapman, Sr.
In addition to his mother of the home, he is survived by daughter, Destiny Spring Chapman and son, Douglas Logan Chapman, both of Seneca; brothers, Chris “Beaver” Chapman of Belton, Babe Carl Chapman of Seneca, and John Richard Alan Chapman of Pelzer; step-brother, Daniel Swaney of Seneca; and step-grandparents, Eleanor and Randolph Swaney of Seneca..
Funeral services were held Monday in Gray  Mortuary chapel.  Burial followed at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

VIRGINIA WINSLOW
Ellen Virginia Putnam Winslow, 80, of Belton, died Friday, March 29, 2013 at Magnolia Place of Greenville.
Born in Simpsonville, she was a daughter of the late George Leonard and Fannie Mae Abercrombie Putnam.  She was the former owner of Virginia Tire Store.
Surviving are children, Stanley, Scott and Sharon Bagwell; brother, Carl L. Putnam; sister, Jane Rowland; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Tuesday, April 2 at the chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

ALICE R. JENKINS
Alice R. Jenkins of Piedmont, widow of Truman Jenkins, died Thursday, March 28, 2013.
Born in Piedmont, she was a daughter of the late Walker F. and Ellen Smith Rampey. She was retired from J. P. Stevens and a member of Piedmont United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a stepdaughter, Peggy Jenkins Bagwell; two sisters, Frances Gilreath and Annie Bryant.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 1 in Mackey Mortuary Chapel. Interment followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to Piedmont United Methodist Church.

BILLY NORMAN PATRICK, SR.
Billy Norman Patrick, Sr., 81, of Simpsonville, died April 2, 2013.
Born in Greenville, TN, he was a son of the late Floyd and Zelma Patrick.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a retired electrician.
He was a member of Glendale Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Fletcher Patrick; two daughters, Susan Pennington of Hickory, NC, and Norma Leigh Finnie of Mauldin; two sons, Jimmy Patrick of Amelia Island, FL and Billy Jr. of Greer; ten grandchildren; and brother, Floyd Patrick, Jr. of Pelzer.
Funeral service will be held at noon on Friday, April 5 at Glendale Baptist Church with visitation prior to the service from 10:30 – 11:45 a.m.
Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery West.
Memorials may be made to the Glendale Baptist Church, 212 East Butler Road, Mauldin, SC 29662.
