GWBA readies for Party in the Park May 31

The Greater Williamston Business Association (GWBA) is planning an event on Friday, May 31, that will provide free entertainment and activities for the Williamston community and surrounding area while promoting local business.

“Party in the Park” will feature live entertainment by one of the Upstate’s favorite bands, the Eric Scott Band. Free Kids’ Activities will be provided by the GWBA from 5 pm-8:30pm with Eddie’s Trackless Trains and 3 Kids Inflatables. The park playground will be open to kids until the event ends, organizers said.

GWBA members will be marketing their business at the event, with banners and display tables where they will be handing out promotional materials thoughout the event, according to GWBA president and event organizer Chris Trotter.

The fun will begin at 5 p.m. with DJ music by Choice Entertainment.

From 7 pm to 8:30 pm, the Eric Scott Band will perform. During a band break, there will be Line Dancing and Shagging with music provided by the DJ. The Eric Scott Band will perform a second set from 9 pm-10:30pm.

Food items are being provided by local business vendors and will include: BBQ Sandwich plates by the Smokin Pig BBQ; Hotdogs from The Dog House, Wings from Sue’s Wings and Things and if you are looking form something cool, there will be Sno Cones

The GWBA will sell drinks in 16 ounce plastic cups with logos of two of the event sponsors, AnMed Health and the GWBA.

AnMed Hospital and Williamston EMS will also be conducting a Blood Drive for emergency personnell and first responders from 4 pm to 8 pm in park. Find out more about the GWBA at their new website, www.gwba.info.
