The second annual Wren Hurricane Mud FLUD Run will be held on Saturday, June 1 beginning at 8 a.m. Participants will crawl through muddy ravines, ford a babbling stream, jump and climb over a multitude of obstacles, while going through through a ‘flud of mud.” Contestants will compete on the 3.1-mile course until the last team completes (or is carried off) the muddy obstacle-filled FLUD Run through Wigington’s Farm behind Wren High School. The event is being organized to raise funds for the Wren High School Athletic Program.

Proceeds will be used to purchase and maintain sports equipment, assist with travel and team related expenses and will benefit all sports programs at Wren High School, both boys and girls.

This year’s run will be dedicated in memory of Dan Wigington, a Wren alumnus, who lost his battle with cancer shortly after last year’s run, and a portion of the proceeds wiil be donated to a charity of his family’s choice, for graciously allowing the use of their property.

Pelzer EMS, Anderson County Emergency Medical Services, Wren Fire Department and Three & Twenty Fire Department, Anderson County Fire and Anderson County will all be working to make the event possible.
