Anderson County Sheriff’s Investigator Grady M. Epps recently received a Certificate of Appreciation from the United States Postal Service. Epps was recognized for his significant contributions to the Upstate Financial Crimes Task Force and the U. S. Postal Inspection Service. Inspector In Charge Keith A. Fixel made the presentation at the Postal Inspection Office in Greenville.

Inv. Epps, in working with local, state and federal agencies, was instrumental in stopping and arresting a ring of mail thieves, counterfeiters and forgers that plagued the upstate in 2010. The ring, which consisted of seven perpetrators, was responsible for victimizing nearly 240 individuals and businesses in which the losses exceeded one million dollars.

Inv. Epps is currently assigned to the Economic Crime Section of the Sheriff’s Office and is also a homicide investigator.

Sheriff John Skipper said that he is extremely proud of Epps and commented, “Grady is a perpetual team player. We’ve given him an awful lot of responsibility and he always rises to the occasion.”
