Williamston Police Report

Williamston Police Officers investigated the theft of lawn statues, dogs and other items and recovered items belonging to two law enforcement agencies. Among incidents investigated were the following:

July 9 – Annie Mae Maw, 3 W 3rd St., Williamston reported lawn decoration statues valued at $253 removed from the residence. Missing statues include concrete dog black, dutch boy and girl, small bulldog, 3 ft. angel concrete statue, 18 inch angel concrete statue. C. Whitfield investigated.

July 9 – Brittany Nicole Star Richardson, 22, 303 Hardy St., Williamston was arrested for attempted burglary and assault and battery (3rd) after officers responded to 17 Glenwood Ave. in reference to a break-in. According to reports, Shirley Stewart Neel was at home when Richardson attempted to enter the locked residence at several doors and a window. C. Whitfield investigated.

July 2 – Loretta Medlin, 17 Traxler Ave reported prescription medicine valued at $60 taken from the residence. A. Eliopoulos investigated.

July 10 – Anthoney Daquan Dean, 20, 18 Brown St., Williamston was arrested for failure to accompany and probation warrant. While talking with officers, Dean attempted to flee behind the residence but tripped and fell. A. Elipoulos investigated.

July 10 – Officers investigated a possible break-in at 41 Market St, Williamston. Officers found an open door which had been forced open. Officers attempted to contact the key holder with Keele Williams Real Estate but were unsuccessful. T. D. Hoover investigated.

July 10 – Brian Galvin, 325 S. Hamilton St,. reported an AC unit valued at $4000 removed from the residence. D. Crawford investigated.

July 11 – Bonnie Roache Meeks reported a white male taking metal from behind the old H&R Block building at 2 S Hamilton St. A. Eliopoulos investigated.

July 11 – Elizabeth Phillips, 29, 315 A Willingham Rd., Williamston reported a purse with items valued at $50 taken from an unlocked vehicle parked at Rite Aid. A. Eliopoulos investigated.

July 11 – Anthony Jones, 44, 201 B W Butler Rd. Mauldin reported carpet removed from a residence at 16 C St. in Williamston. D. Crawford investigated.

July 11 – SavWay, 309 E. Main St, Williamston reported a juvenile offender had taken sunglasses valued at $5.99 from a display rack and placed in his pockets. SGT/SRO L. D. Ritter investigated.

July 11 – Dollar General, 526 W. Main St,. Williamston reported a shoplifting incident in which a white female took items valued at $16 without paying for them. T. D. Hoover, D. Crawford investigated.

July 11 – Robert Anthony Evatt, 13 Calhoun St,. Williamston reported an XBOX and aproximately 20 games taken from the residence. The items were valued at $1,600. SGT/SRO L. D. Ritter investigated.

July 12 – Melissa Davenport Crowder, 44, 309 E. Carolina St., Williamton was arrested for CDV- simple assault after officers were dispatched to the residence. Rickey Acker reported being hit in the back by a broom. D. Crawford, T. D. Hoover investigated.

July 12 – During a traffic stop, officers recovered an Oconee Sheriffs Office jacket and a Williamston Police Department ID. The driver of the vehicle denied ownership of the items and was not charged. The items were taken as evidence. C. Whitfield investigated.

July 12 – Officers investigated a fight at Williamston Court apartments however both parties refused to press charges. Cpl. L. E. Mulz, SGT/SRO L. D. Ritter investigated.

July 13 – Sandra Chapman, 27 Green St., Williamston reported someone attempted to enter a vehicle parked at Calvary Baptist Church, damaging the passenger door handle. C. Whitfield investigated.

July 13 – Chanda Ann Bell, 110 Gossett St., A5, Williamston reported two male boxer dogs stolen from 803 Tripp St., Williamston. CPL. L. E. Mulz investigated.

July 13 – Jennifer Elaine Tyner, 36, 318 E. Carolina St., Williamston was arrested for CDV after officers responded to Hickory Point Hwy. 20 in West Pelzer where an Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputy was investigating an incident. According to reports, during an earlier dispute that occurred in Williamston, Bruce William May, 30,, 318 E. Carolina St, Williamston was struck in the head with a glass bottle. Sgt. K. J. July 15 – Tara Pryntess Hays, 28, 608 N. Hamilton St, Williamston was arrested for simple possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and a noise complaint after officers were dispatched to N. Hamilton St. in reference to a noise complaint. During the investigation, officers found a pipe, grinder, two roach clips, grey bag, baggie, hookah, rolling papers, 1 gram of marijuana and 3 blunts. July 16 – Shannon Dominic Black, 407 E. Main St., Williamston reported an attempted break-in in which a window had been pried. Entry was not gained and no item were reported missing. Damage to the window was estimated at $200. D. Crawford investigated.

July 15 – Whitney S. Chapman, 27, 102 Williamston Ct., reported items valued at $25 taken from an unlocked car at the apartments. Missing items included $16 in money, $9 in quarters and a Bank of America debit card. D. Crawford investigated.

July 15 – Austin Lenere Mosley, 20, 310 E. Carolina St., Williamston was arrested for CDV (1st) after officers were dispatched to 104 Mattison St in reference to an incident involving a 17 year old female. T. D. Hoover investigated.

July 18 – Betty Jo Lambert, 20, 1926 Holiday Dam Rd., Belton was arrested for driving under suspension, disregarding a stop sign and no proof of insurance after a white Toyota truck was observed turning onto Belton Drive without stopping for a stop sign. Sgt. K. J. Winn investigated.

July 19 – Jacqueline Cartwright, 31 Wesley Ellison Rd., Williamston reported three incidents in which a stolen financial card was used at businesses in Williamston. The card was used for purchases of $18.76 and $19.09 at McDonalds and $36 at a debit machine at Stop n Go. D. Crawford investigated.

July 19 – Ace Hardware, 29 Pelzer Ave. Williamston reported items valued at $270 taken from the store. The items, which were equipment being worked on, included a Troy Bilt back pack blower $150, a Craftsman weed eater and a hedge trimmer. Two of the items, the blower and hedge trimmer were recovered at a local business. The incident remains under investigation. T. D. Hoover investigated initially.

July 19 – Officers arrested two juveniles in Mineral Spring Park who were charged with simple possession of marijuana and possession of tobacco by underage person after receiving a complaint. A. Eliopoulos, SGT/SR L. D. Ritter investigated.

July 22 – Stop n Go, 103 Greenville Dr., Williamston reported a customer purchased $10 in gas with an agreement that he would return and pay for it later because he had left his bank card at home. The customer had not returned to pay for the gas. Sgt. K. J. Winn investigated.
