Town discusses pending litigation in executive session

During a special called meeting last Thursday, Williamston Town Council went behind closed doors to discuss pending letigation in an executive session that lasted more than an hour. Prior to the meeting, Williamston Mayor Mack Durham said council will be looking at legal matters and a possible contract.

After being asked to be more specific about the reason for the executive session by a reporter, Town Attorney Richard Thompson said they were going to dicuss pending litigation and a possible defense strategy. No officials action was taken by council. The regular Sept. meeting of Williamston Town Council will be held Monday Sept. 9 at 6 p.m.
