CATHERINE T. CALLAWAY
Catherine Tannery Callaway, 91, of Anderson, widow of William Andrew Callaway, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at her home.
Born in Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late John Benson and Irene Bennett Tannery. She retired from J.C. Penney and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughter, Gail Shumer of Anderson; four step grandchildren; numerous step great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ollie Tannery Crawford of Seneca and Linda Tannery Taylor of Piedmont; brother, Julian Tannery of Stanley, NC .
Funeral service was held Friday at Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel. Burial followed in New Silver Brook Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.

PATTI JO TURNER
Patti Jo Turner, 46, of Williamston, died Octobet 15, 2013.
Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of Joel and Patsy (Mullinax) Turner.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her son, Austin Seth; and two sisters, Pamela T. Toland and Karen T. Davis.
Funeral service was held Friday in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast. Burial followed at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

EMMA LOU STAGGS SELMAN
January 23, 1920 – October 14, 2013
WILLIAMSTON, SC – Emma Lou Staggs Selman, age 93, of Williamston, SC, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2013 at the Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Belton, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Jones Staggs and the late Levinna Lollis Staggs. She worked in textiles for many years at the Cushman Mill in Williamston, SC.
She is survived by her children, Buddy Ray Selman, of Williamston, SC, Shirley Selman Phillips and her husband Larry, of Belton, SC, Charles Selman, of Williamston, SC, Robbie Selman Cordell, of Williamston, SC, and Dallas Selman, of Williamston, SC; six grandchildren, Richard Phillips, Joey Phillips, James Phillips, Angela Ambrose, Travis Selman, and Corey Selman; 7 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a niece, Martha Staggs Gentry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Oliver Selman; a brother, J.L. Staggs; and two sisters, Mary Ann Staggs and Eugenia Staggs Selman.
The Funeral was held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, October 18, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Reverend Chad Howard officiating. Interment followed at Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery in Williamston, SC.
The family will be at the home of Richard Phillips, 114 Welcome Road, Williamston, SC and will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

FRANCIS ALTMAN
Francis Walter Altman, 93, of Anderson, husband of the late Bettie June Dorr Altman, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at his home.
Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late Rufus Utley and Mary Ruth Tucker Altman. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and retired from Altman Printing.
He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Amy A. Roberts of Williamston, June James of the home and Dorothy Kennedy of Waynesboro, GA; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Saturday at First Baptist Church, Anderson.

MELISSA MARSHALL
Melissa Allen Marshall, 38, of Williamston, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013.
Born in Greenville, SC, she was a daughter of Allen “David” and Tina Marshall of Donalds and Rhonda “Loretta” Farmer and Darrell Andrews of Pelzer.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister, Rhonda Renee Anderson of Williamston; and her brothers, Jesse Miller of Woodruff, Allen David Marshall, Jr. of Donalds, and Ricky Marshall of Donalds.
There are no services planned at this time.

CLYDE CHAPMAN
Clyde Chapman, 79, of Piedmont, husband of Frances Knight Chapman, died Saturday, October 19, 2013.
A native of Southern Greenville County, he was a son of the late Lawrence Edward and Beulah Phillips Chapman.  A sergeant of the US Army, he retired from the JP Stevens Estes plant and was affiliated with Pentecostal Holiness Church.
In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by his daughter, Kim Keeler of the home; son, David Chapman of Belton; sisters, Amelia Griffin and Sara Davis; brothers, Bill and Larry Chapman; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Tuesday in the funeral home chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.  Burial was held at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

JUDY BARBARA ‘BOBBY’ McGEE
Belton – Judy Barbara “Bobby” McGee, 72 of 1050 Browning Rd. died Saturday, October 19, 2012 at her residence.
Born in Belton, she was the daughter of the late J. B. and Alene Browning McGee. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are: brothers, Terry McGee and wife Ada of Anderson, David McGee and wife Anita of Pelzer; niece, caregiver and guardian, Donna Stroud and husband Larry Ford of the home; sister in law, Patsy McGee of Belton; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Wayne McGee.
Graveside service was held 11am Monday at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Daryle Hawthorne officiating.
The family received friends following the service Monday at Shady Grove Baptist Church Family Life Center.
Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to the Anderson-Oconee-Pickens Mental Health Center, 200 McGee Rd. Anderson.
The family will be at the residence.

MILDRED BROWN BURTON
Mildred Brown Burton, 90, widow of the late J.P. Burton died Saturday, October 19, 2013.
Born in Peason, LA. she was the daughter of the late Herman Moss and Ida Cobb Brown.
She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl O’Donald of Easley; three sons, James Douglas Burton of Greenville, Donald Ray Burton of Pickens and Harold A. Burton of Powdersville; one brother, Jerry Brown of Anderson; one sister, Louise Schumpert of Ware Shoals; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, October 22 at Bethel Baptist Church.
Burial followed at Graceland West Cemetery.

GREG FITKIN
Gregory “Greg” Alan Fitkin, 73, of Fountain Inn, husband of Rachael Duncan Fitkin, died Sunday, October 20, 2013 at his home.
Born in Bakefield, CA, he was a son of the late Howard Burnette and Velma Louise Cassel Fitkin.   He was formerly employed with BP Oil in Alaska and a member of Hickory Tavern Church of God.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are daughters, Billie Jones and April Alberson; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Leslie Leeper of CA; brothers, Gene Fitkin and Mondo Rojos, all of CA.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 – 2:00 pm Thursday at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.
The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.  Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.
The family is at the home.

“ZEKE” TOLLY
PIEDMONT – Clarence Ezekiel “Zeke” Tolly, 78, died Friday, October 18, 2013 at Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late George Fred and Ruth Bagwell Tolly.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Zeke Tolly will be held at 11:00am on Friday, October 25th at the Williamston Presbyterian Church 124 Mill Street, officiated by Reverend Aaron Ochart.
Zeke was the owner of Tolly Furniture in Williamston, formerly G. F. Tolly and Son, the oldest furniture name in South Carolina. He also previously owned stores in Greenville, Easley and Anderson.
Zeke was a member and Elder of the Williamston Presbyterian Church for many years and was very instrumental in uniting the Williamston and Pelzer Presbyterian churches. He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Business Administration where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.  Zeke was well-known for being an avid Gamecock fan.
Zeke had a very strong Christian faith and was a great father and friend. He touched many lives with his kindness and generosity.
Surviving are his children, Lisa Tolly of Lexington, Evie Tolly Jones (Sam) of Columbia, John Nolan Tolly (Kim) of Hilton Head Island; grandchildren, Peter Ethridge Lane III of Columbia and Kaya Ann Tolly of Hilton Head; his brother, George Fred Tolly Jr. (June) of Anderson; nieces Ruth Marie Embler (Marc) of Charleston and Sissy Todd (Monty) of Columbia; nephew, Fred Tolly III (Sandi) of Anderson. He also left behind his beloved dogs Sissy and Max “Little Man”. He will be truly missed by both his family and his community.
The family would like to thank all of his faithful friends, caregivers, Home Instead and Hospice of the Upstate for all of their love and support.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Simpson, Lee Terry, David Shipley, Dave Hefner, Bill Strauss, Neal Baskin, Doyle Dyer, Leon Leckie and David Bolton.

DR. BEECHER E. MORTON, JR.
Dr. Beecher Edward Morton, Jr., 90, widower of Mary Sue “Boots” Mullinax Morton, died October 20, 2013 at Ashlan Village.
A native of Great Falls, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Beecher Edward Morton, Sr. and Ida Elizabeth Coggins Morton.  Dr. Morton was a graduate of Furman University and a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran.  He was a coach and teacher at Walhalla High School, Principal at Salem High School and Wren High School, and Superintendent of Education for Anderson County and Aiken County Schools.  Dr. Morton was a member of the Lions Club and of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are two sons, Beecher E. “Butch” Morton, III (Vicki) of Williamston, SC and Brian K. Morton (Joanne) of Aiken; a sister, Jacqueline Waggoner (Barthel) of Natchez, Mississippi; three grandchildren, Jesse Morton, Ella Morton, and Sadie Morton; a special friend, Mattie Stroud; a sister-in-law, Billie Jean Morton; and a brother-in-law, Ed Laughridge.
Dr. Morton was predeceased by siblings, Dever Morton, Earl Morton, and Frances Laughridge.
Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Dr. Rodney Powell.  Burial followed in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation was held 9:30-10:45 a.m. Wednesday at The Wood Mortuary.

MELISSA MARSHALL
Melissa Marshall, 38, of Williamston, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Robyn Marshall.
Survivors are: fiancé, Lester Johnson of the home; parents, Darrell and Loretta Andrews of Pelzer, David and Tina Marshall of Donalds; sister, Renee Anderson of Williamston; brothers, Allen and Ricky Marshall of Donalds; step-sisters, Jennifer Sanders and Jessica Andrews of Easley; and step-brother, Jim Andrews of Virginia.
Memorial service will be held at Masonic Lodge in Pelzer at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 27.

RUTH ANN LEONARD
Ruth Ann McCall Leonard, 80, of Anderson, widow of Lewis A. Leonard, Sr., died October 21, 2013.
Born in Pelzer, she was the daughter of Gordon Augustus and Marcelle Bridges McCall. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Surviving are step-children, Lewis A. Leonard, Jr. of Anderson, Grant Leonard of Anderson, Sonja Leonard of Denver, CO; brother, Richard G. McCall of Williamston.
Graveside services will be held at 11am Thursday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.
The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.

TONI GILSTRAP EVANS
Toni Evans, 70, of Piedmont, died on October 21, 2013.
She was the daughter of Bessie Gilstrap and the late Wallace “Bill” Gilstrap. She was the widow of Lloyd W. Evans.
She retired from Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and was a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church in Easley.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by three sons, Michael, Geoffrey and Darryl Evans; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a brother, Kenneth Gilstrap; and a sister, Nancy Fant.
Graveside services were held October 23 at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Easley.
