Crowds began to line up in Mineral Spring Park at 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon for Boo in the Park.  For quite some time the line stretched outside the park and up East Main Street to Mill Street. Organizers estimated that there amy have been as many as 6,000 attending the annual event this year.

“It was unbelievable the crowd this year,” said orgnizer Dianne Lollis. “If it had not been for the GWBA donating candy we wouldn’t have had enough. All went smooth.”

The Pelzer Church of God gave away 2,000 hot dogs along with peanuts, popcorn and drinks. They also provided entertainment on the Gospel Stage. The Williamston Fire Dept stayed busy offering rides all during event, Lollis said. The Spook Hut stayed full and The Christian Youth Thearte Upstate characters from Wizard of Oz were also a huge hit with everyone, she said. Approximately 15 Churches, Organizations, businesses and individuals helped with the event which is co-sponsored with the Town of Williamston.
