One person was injured in a three vehicle accident on Thursday afternoon in Pelzer. The accident happened around 4:30 when a Pontiac Grand Am traveling on Smith Street was apparently unable to stop at the stop sign at Goodrich Street. The Pontiac collided with a Honda Accord. The Accord left the roadway and struck a parked pickup truck and then a house. A four year old was playing in the yard next to the parked truck but escaped unharmed, just shaken. Two other children and an adult in the home were uninjured.

The driver of the Honda was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital by Pelzer EMS and her injuries were not life threatening. West Pelzer firefighters helped shore up the front porch of the home. The porch was knocked about a foot off its foundation. The female driver of the Grand Am nor the male passenger were not injured.
