Williamston Police Report

Williamston Police Officers investigated incidents involving alcohol and drugs and several domestic type incidents. Among incidents investigated were the following:

Nov. 1 – Johnny Peterson, 44 Market St., Williamston reported an attmpted burglary in which someone attempted to force entry into his residence through two windows. Two screens were removed and one glass pane was broken causing $200 in damage. Sgt. K. J. Winn investigated.

Nov. 11 – Tabitha Anna McCarson, 31, 115 W 2nd St. Williamston reported damage to the rear bumper of her 2010Toyota Camry caused by someone scratching a profane word into it. Sgt. C. Whitfield investigated.

Nov. 19 – Marquies Deanthony Slade, 22, 325 E. Carolina St., Williamston was issued tickets for disregarding a stop sign, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and simple possession of marijuana after a 2001 Saturn was observed disregarding a stop sign on E. Greenville Drive and Brown St. Reports state officers found 4.71 grams of marijuana in a small clear baggy and a Sharpstone marijuana grinder in the vehicle. T. L. Eichelberger investigated.

Nov. 19 – Darren Lee Cranford, 45, 111 Shirley Dr., Belton was arrested for open container after a gold 2000 Chevrolet Blazer was observed making a left turn off Greenville Dr. without using a turn signal. Reports state two 24 ounce cans of Ice House beer were found in the vehicle. T. L. Eichelberger investigated.

Nov. 22 – Kathryn Grayson Hardy, 19, 1416 Keone Circle Williamston and Kaitlyn Grace Pearson, 19, 17 Black St,. Williamston were issued courtesy summons for minors in possession of alcohol after a white Kia was observed on Anderson Drive and other streets. J. Rogers, Cpl. L. E. Mulz investigated.

Nov. 21 – Christopher Harold Martin, 24, 102 D&M Dr., Belton was arrested for driving under suspension after a vehicle was observed on Main St. without headlights on. Martin was issued a Uniform traffic ticket for DUS and a warning ticket for driving without headlights. Cpl. L. E. Mulz investigated.

Nov. 18 – Mark Daniel McCann, 45, 10 Spring St., Williamston reported a utility trailer valued at $3500 stolen from 9 Durham Dr. Sgt. K. J. Winn investigated.

Nov. 22 – Nicholas Bart Garner, 30, 123 100 Williamston Ct. was arrested for disorderly conduct after officers were dispatched to the address in reference to a noise complaint. R. Drennon, T. L. Eichelberger investigated.

Nov. 23 – Richard Thomas Umland, 42, 236 Murphy Rd., Belton was arrested for open container and driving under suspension 2nd after officers observed a 1989 Nissan Maxima on E. Greenville Dr. with no taillights on. Reports state a cold beer can was found on the floorboard. R. Drennon investigated.

Nov. 24 – Alvin Lee Colbert Jr. 48, 260 Belhaven Rd., Anderson was arrested for trespass after notice and failure to accompany after officers reponded to 19 Parker St. Sgt. K. J. Winn investigated.

Nov. 24 – Jerry Willie Hammond, Jr., 40, 19 Railroad Blvd, Pelzer was arrested for CDV simple assault after officers were dispatched to Mineral Spring Park in reference to a fight in progress. When officers arrived, Hammond had left the scene, but was located in a vehicle which was stopped on Cherokee Rd. Upon returning to the park to sort out the incident, it was determined Hammond had tazed a 23 year old female victim who also had an injured finger. The incident also involved a child. Sgt. T. D.
